Topic: NES Collection for DS?

So, I'm about to go on a short trip, and I realized I badly want to beat up Bald Bull, or try to hit the top of one of those green flag poles.

My idea is for Nintendo to release a 6 game collection of NES games, for $30. That'd make it the same price for 6 NES VC games.

1. Super Mario Bros.
2. The Legend of Zelda
3. Punch-Out!!
4. Metroid
5. Kid Icarus
6. Super Mario Bros. 3 (Though it'd probably be Donkey Kong or Ice Climber)

Think Nintendo will ever release such a collection? Unfortunately I think the odds are against it, especially if they announce a DSi VC at E3. It'd be an instant buy for me though.

Cheezy

I had this idea a long time ago, and I always thought it would be cool.

Retro Game Challenge is the closest you're going to get for now.

They already did that NES Classics stuff on the GBA. I bought Zelda 1 and 2, didn't own those before and portable gaming is always good. I've also got the SMB3 GBA version, since I only beat the game using tons of whistles before I lost my copy of All Stars there was still plenty of new stuff for me to see.

Well its not Nintendo but I bought a copy of Sega Sonic Ultimat Collection today for my PS3 and its got like 40+ games, wish Nintendo would drop something like that.

I'd like to see a DKC Trilogy collection on the DS! It would have all 3 DKC games(the GBA versions) on one cart!

Probably won't happen, but it would be cool. Right now the best thing is to track down the GBA verisons of the games you want. Sadly, PunchOut and Kid Icarus didn't make the cut. I would have really enjoyed PunchOut on GBA.

Well, you could just transfer the Punch-Out!! from the GC AC and just keep your GBA alive. Or maybe just bring your Wii, some car adapters, and a portable DVD Player to play them.

SNES games should come to the DS. And I agree about the DS and SNES sound quality comparison. One reason I'm disappointed in the GBA Breath of Fire port is because the sound chip was so very inferior. Technically, the DS in inferior, but it's at least tolerable and the closest you can get to SNES sound.
To me, that is.

To each their own

Inferior sound quality on the DS? Apparently, Dragon Quest IV doesn't exist.

If you want to go the hacky way there's always a CopyNES, Acekard 2i, and an emulator.

But what if you used it on a pirated cartridge?
