I read that Mr. Iwata (or someone else involved with the development of the DSi) wishes to have people find the DSi a permanent part of their lives (akin to a wallet). Me, the DSi seems to already have done so. I do not mean just playing games; I can also access the Internet when needed (which is good when my laptop computer is out of comission due to charger problems), take impromptu photos of pretty much anywhere, record pieces of songs that I want to remember, and soon take notes!
What he envisions can only be done if they open up their DSiWare store a little.
You want people to make it a permanent piece of their electronic arsenal, you can't starve people apps and release them when you feel like for whatever reason. Now I'm not saying open the flood gates like the app store, but they really need to entice devs to make DSiWare apps and release them faster.
I could say the same for WiiWare/VC but on DSi it seems much more obvious. The need for change that is.
I always keep my SP with me right now. IF VC does indeed hit DSi then maybe it will take its place. I love my DSi but SP rules the roost. Kid Icarus has been locked into its slot for awhile now.
Im all for the apps (finally coming around on them somewhat) if we also get a decent flow of DSiGames. I do want my DSi to be a mainly Gaming System not just applications for life.
I take the DSi pretty much everywhere with me, but I would've liked if those L/R buttons weren't so sensitive to being broken from sitting in my pocket. Still, it's good for everyday life and once FlipNote comes out it will be both be an animation heaven and a way of making...grocery lists.
If you get it for Christmas, you won't get the free 1000 DSi points. The offer expires in October.
How sad, because there is no way I can afford one right now.
If you're living in Europe (well, at least Germany) you even get 1000 free points until March 31st 2010. At least that's what the last Nintendo newsletter said I received.
