Speaking of Mega man 10 those extra DLC stages in that game are based on stages in the gameboy games. There's Enkers stage, Ballade's stage and Punk's. Pretty cool little tribute to the gameboy series!Strange they didn't include one for quint. I'm sure glad I held on to my GB MMV all these years. I don't have to wait until it's on VC probably years from now. (Hugs cartridge)

Well, actually there is a better chance of GB Mega Man V coming to the 3DS VC.
Other than Bionic Commando which is confirmed for coming later in the year, Capcom only has Street Fighter II and Mega Man 2 - 5 to release from their Game Boy catalogue. They can't release the Disney games so we won't count them.
Whereas with the Wii Virtual Console, they had a wide range of games to release that many are still unreleased.
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

Didn't Capcom publish some game called "Shantae" or something like that for the GBC that I've heard was pretty good?

As a kid I only had SEGA consoles, so I dont have a background playing Mega Man except for when I played the games at NES owning friends houses. I did Download 9 and 10 and I really like the retro style, but found them very difficult (except for 10 on easy mode).
Downloaded the GB game and I really enjoyed playing it, I used save states on the first play through, especially at the start of the boss fights (getting sent back to play the level again was easier when you're a kid with a lot of time on your hands), but overall found it a great little game. I think the 'zoomed in' style of the graphics works fine, the levels are designed in relation to the screen size, just like the better Master System ports to Game Gear.

Yeah, but I was only listing b&w GB games there. They also have a bunch of GBC games to release too. But since GBC is largely neglected right now, I didn't see fit to name them.

Fair enough. My sarcasm was because I thought you sounded less than logical with your post, but your explanation makes that make sense.

It's still been over a month since I've played a game. The crazy hot summer weather has finally passed, but now my 6 year old TV has bit the Crypt dust. SO i'll finally be upgrading to a 42" Samsung Plasma in 12 more days for my Wii, Bluray's, DVD & PS3.
In the meantime, i'll be giving some mega lovin to my shiny little 3DS. Starting with Mega Man. Yet I'm still waiting for my Headphone adapter to arrive in the mail....Since my 3DS's headphone input is a bit damaged. The adapter wire i got holds firmly into place and doesn't wiggle, because the 'wiggling' which i get from my regular headphone adapter basically cuts out the left or right channel which is flat out annoying and ruins the experience.
Anyways, whocares.lolMega Man shall be a short but sweet experience....Unless the difficulty takes me for a ride, which i doubt it will. I'm just too damn good. Says the guy who beat MM10 on Hard mode. Remember how incredibly devilish & evil Wily's Stage 2 was?

Also, although it is possible Capcom could publish Shantae again, its not one of their own games. I'm thinking WayForward is more likely to publish the GBC version if it appears.
IIRC, WayForward wasn't in a position to publish games themselves originally and had to get someone to publish the game for them. These days they can publish their own games.

Got this a week ago, and it is as challenging as I remembered. Good old retro megaman action, it may not be as memorable as its NES cousin, but its definitely harder. No matter how many times I beat this, it never gets old. I just wish Capcom would have the competence to release the other 4 games sooner than how they released their NES VC games. So far I'm planning on attempting a perfect run for this game save state what?
After finishing the game for the third time, it makes me wonder though, is Megaman 9&10 a possibility for the eShop? Can their native resolutions match the 3DS' screen? I mean, I'm not saying this should happen, but I'd be really glad if it does. Finished 9 recently and am now playing through 10, but I'll still buy them again if it means I can play them in portable form.

I'd kill for MM9's Endless Mode on the 3DS.
MM10's is good too, of course, but for some reason I don't find it to be as much fun.
Absolute fantasy territory: Capcom releases an eShop-only Mega Man game that's nothing but endless mode, with enemies from every game and weapons assigned randomly (8 per play) from Mega Man's entire back catalogue when the game starts. Sometimes you get to hurl Metal Blades, Elec Beams and Triple Blades like crazy, and other times you need to make do with Bubble Lead, Hyper Bomb and Skull Barrier.
I'd play that game all day, every day.

After a long 'almost 2 months' gaming hiatus i finally picked up my 3DS and gave Mega Man: Dr.Wily's Revenge a whirl last night after watching snippets of that Captain N episode titled 'Happy Birthday Mega Man!
First things first, dare I say it. This game beats out Super Mario Land and Kirby's Dreamland easily for me at least that's if i throw down the Nostalgia shades of gloryness. Sure the controls don't quite 'feel' right compared to NES mega man, and sure the Robot Master Boss Battles have you confined to a smaller area which can suck, like jumping over Cutman for example....Which is next to impossible without taking a hit, but Dr.Wily's Revenge is still highly enjoyable. And man is it pretty tough! Tougher than the Nes original in my eyes at least stage design wise. I think Capcom figured because of it's short leangth we're going to make it 2x has tough as the original!
Maybe that's also because of having to use the 3DS's B & A buttons, which can kind of cramp your hands after a while and i feel that it's togher to get into that fast blasting finger pressing groove by using the B & A buttons simultaneously. It's hard for me at times to blast away at lightning funky speed with those tiny little buttons. That aside, i really like how Capcom threw in little tiny sprinklets of MM2 goodness, like that tiny little segment in Air man's stage where you're riding on a cloud duking it out with those Electricity bolt throwing Cloud riding robots, or those even those Flame chuckers from Quick man's stage ect ect. Anyways! I'm on Dr. Wily's First stage at the momento', yet I decided to call it a night since i started seeing the mega zZzZzZz
But yup! I'm so happy to be gaming again, everything is about balance but when i stopped watching movies & playing Nintendo for almost 2 months now, i feel like part of my soul died haha. And I felt like i got trapped in an unexciting dreary Nightmare Limbo with Birdo forcing me to eat her endless devilish supply of stale carrot cupcakes.

So how exactly is MMII for the GB the worst of the 5?And you know, this doesn't feel like a copy cat of the original MM at all. All it has in common are 4 of the robot masters from the first, the same stage music in GB form that is, and basically all of the enemies including a few baddies from MM2. But the stages themselves are 95% totaly different.
I thought this would of ended up being the same as MM1 for the NES yet just totaly watered down and much shorter(which it is, but tougher!) but it feels like a different take on MM1 in GB-form all together.

Have you played MMII for GB, out of curiosity? It's pretty horrible. The music is trash (and often paired with the wrong robot master), the sprites are hideous and totally disproportionate, and it controls terribly (among other things).
It could be worse, of course, but it's easily the worst "official" Mega Man game I've ever played.
Needless to say, it'll be the only Mega Man game Dazza lets me review.

@ WaveboyYeah Mega man 2 on Gameboy was messed up. It's gotta be the worst game of all. As far as classic series games go.Here's a little snippet about the development from Wiki.
Series artist Keiji Inafune admitted that the poor design quality of Mega Man II was the result of Capcom's outsourcing the game's development to a different company than the one that had worked on Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge. The developer for Mega Man II had very little knowledge of the series. For the next game in the Game Boy line, they decided to forgo using the developer for Mega Man II again.

Well that's hilarious, who would of thought MMII for the GB would be considered thee' WORST classic MM title of the bunch when MM2 for the NES is regarded as the greatest.
Guess I'll be skipping MMII then whenever it hit's the VC....But I'm still curious to see how bad it is....So...Tempting.....Erk...Ahk! lol Are MMIII and IV simular to their NES counterparts, or are they more original like how MM is for the GB?

They're like the original GB MM. MMIV in particular is very good.

@ WaveboyI used to own Gameboy Mega man 2 and honestly as a kid I thought it was okay. I later realized that something was very off about it. It didn't seem right somehow. I only bought it because I was blindly buying anything with the Mega man name. Then I found out the truth of how screwed up it was. If nothing else you may still wanna check it out just for a laugh.
