Not that Xenoblade looks bad, just it looks back on the lower resolution screens of the 3DS.
Not if you play in 3D. The game will be the same resolution on the new 3DS(while in 3D) as it was on Wii. The only real differences are the screen size and button layout. It's also way cheaper, so people are far more likely to pick it up, and it makes Shulk make more sense in Smash Bros.

Plus with a smaller screen size it will look better.

Honestly I think playing this in 3D on the new 3DS will be amazing, and Shulk's announcement for smash will boost sales! Tbh as to experience wise I would prefer to play this on a large HD TV but even still I will get this.
Lifes like a game there are those who are good at it and those who need some practice.

I'm more bothered by the fact that Xenoblade Chronicles never seemed like a "Portable" game. Granted, I guess with Sleep mode and "save everywhere, dying has no consequence!" means it doesn't have to be, but still, I honestly can't play Xenoblade without losing hours to it. It might still be successful (for some reason Monster Hunter — which is just as bad as Xenoblade when it comes to taking up so much of your time — still sells like hotcakes on the portables) but...
Oh who am I kidding? I'm just making excuses so I don't have to devote another hundred hours to the same freakin' game...

It seems intuitive to think so, but then, 6 hours later and I realize I'm still playing Persona 4 Golden...
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
You can get the wii version used for $50 and less on amazon. It's not that expensive and is definitely the better version.
^this. Even gamestop is selling it for $50.00. And I'm pretty sure playing it on the Wii U bumps up the graphics, making it easily better than the 3DS port.
So no. And before you report that the actual resolution is 800x240, the doubled horizontal resolution is solely for doubled pixels for the 3D effect, you don't have 800 unique images on one horizontal line. Thus the 'effective' resolution of 400x240.
No. it's 480p in 3D, because your eyes are seeing 2 400×240 images and then putting them together to form a 800x480 image that is 3D. The image is 240p only in 2D.
Then why is it clearer in 3D? It's fact that it is clearer, which is the other main reason to use it besides depth. Each image it displays is 240, but you brain puts both images together to form ONE.

Scar, why must you be wrong about everything technical? The pixel doubling is only horizontal, because that is how your eyeballs are oriented. If your eyeballs were on top of one another, then there would be reason to double the pixels vertically.
Also, 2 x (400x240) = either 800x240 or 400x480. 800x480 = 4 x (400x240). Maths.
I'm not wrong. A 16:9 widescreen TV has 427x240 pixels, but the 3DS(3:2) has 800x240, then it splits the 800 into 400 to make 400x240 per eye. So when you see the image without 3D, all the pixels that would be split from the parallax barrier are now side by side to make a 2D image.
Go look at your 3DS in 3D mode, then turn the 3D off. 3D mode has more clarity based on pixel placement. The depth is basically the other 240p that is supposedly missing.
