Topic: 3DS Konami Titles

I want Contra now. It's Contra's 25 Anniversary, and seriously, Contra 4 was absolutely brilliant. Contra is too good to be left behind. I don't want it to end up in the same pile of Metroid.

It's also Metal Gear's 25th anniversary. I just hope if Konami does make a Contra for 3DS it's actually good. Rebirth and 4 were good but nowhere near as good as Contra 3.

I haven't played Rebirth, but I heard it was decent. However, I still believe that Contra 4 was the best game of the series. Contra 3 is almost as good, but Contra 4 had better level design. I just hope that the bottom screen won't be used as a second window to gameplay. That drove me nuts, even though it did work out. Kinda.

The 3DS game is still in the works as proven by the links above. I expect to see more info and a release date at E3.

That's not entirely true. A wiki that anyone can edit and Nintendolife are not definitive proof that a game is still in production.

A Bit More OT: Considering that Konami has been acting in extremely odd ways, I wouldn't be surprised if they just outright ignored Contra's anniversary.

It felt like the end of the world. Nothing was left after the invasion of the first two games and you were the remaining Contras that had to save the world. Also the levels and mini-bosses made it insanely fun and rewarding once you got to the level's actual boss. So. Many. Epic. Moments.

I also thoroughly enjoyed the top down levels. While there were only two (out of the six levels. I know it's very short), I found them challenging, new and rewarding. Even if they were a little unpolished. Co-op with a friend is the only way to go. While it was somewhat easier than the first two, the difficulty can seriously kick you in the butt if you're not careful. I seriously can't shut up about the bosses though. They blow every predecessors/successor out of the water. They're just... that amazing.

How far did you get in Contra 3 Waveboy?

I'm waiting for Contra 3DS, a new "Metroidvania" Castlevania (or preferably an old school Castlevania, I've dreamed of Castlevania V for ages), a new Gradius, along with Contra: Hard Corps, and Castlevania: Bloodlines on VC. And I'm not holding my breath for any of them. Supposedly, Metal Gear Solid 5 is in the works. Other than that, there's nothing making me even remotely interested in Konami these days. Only new Konami game I've gotten in the last couple of years is Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. Then, I got Rumble Roses XX at Amazon, but it's been out for a while.

Of my favorite third party developers, I'm not sure which one sucks most these days. Konami, Capcom, or SquareEnix. Probably Capcom with their treatment of Mega Man, and racket they have going with DLC. All three are mere shadows of their former glorious selves.

A lot of games are coming/had there 25th anniversary. I just wonder how long they'll last.

Metal Gear Solid 5 is already out. It's called Peace Walker.

Off topic, but I want a new Castlevania game in the vein of Castlevania I / III. Super Castlevania IV's level design wasn't as great as those two games, and whipping in all directions made the game way too easy in comparison to those two games.

In all honesty, though, Contra 3D is probably going to be something like Hard Corps: Uprising 2. Or maybe a mediocre 3D title like The Contra Adventure. Who knows.

Really? Ugh...That's not necessary at all. But it's Hideo Kojima, so it'll probably be awesome. And yeah Peace Walker =/= MGS 5.

Wha wha? No No! MGS 4 was perfect. Near perfection anyways. This is so unnecessary. If it's just another 'this took place between' these times, ok, but it shouldn't be called 5. I don't want my MGS series to turn into a cash cow. The game will probably be amazing anyways...hm...

What are you talking about? The last two Metal Gear Solid games we've gotten in the last five years were 4 and PW. Aside from HD collection that is and if MGS4 is anything to go by, we won't see 5 for at least another 2-3 years.

That link is also false and even if it wasn't, MGS3 was prequel so why can't we have another one? (Interquel is a more appropriate term though.)

I didn't say we can't have a prequel. I said that's actually what I'd prefer. >.>
I'm just completely blind about this game. When I heard this today I worried it was going to try to stitch together a direct sequel to 4. If it's not I'm fine. I trust Hideo Kojima so I'm not expecting a terrible game. The exact opposite. I was just freaking out a bit in e earlier posts.

OK I'm going to say either this is going to turn into a Konami games on 3DS/just a Konami (mostly MGS) thread, or it reeaaallllyyyyy needs to get back on topic. If PrimedMetroid doesn't change the thread title and the latter is ever going to happen, let it be with this post: I played a demo for Contra 4 once, and it was awesome enough that I wouldn't mind if WayForward made a 3DS Contra.
