Topic: Video on 3DS

Hi, is there any way you can watch movies from an SD card on the 3DS? Or even YouTube?

I am in the UK and Netflix isn't available for the 3DS yet so I feel the console is very limited at the moment.

It's not complicated at all. Unlike the DS/DSi, doing this doesn't require any special hardware/cartridges.

Note that the limit is 10 minutes, but it can be split into parts.

I think there's a way you can through the camera app .

The 3DS camera records video in .AVI format, so if you can find a converter it should be possible.

I have the converter, works perfectly.
Pretty sure it can do 3D videos as well, though I never bothered with it.

how the hell do you start that program?
i downloaded the zip and extracted it to a special folder on my pc but when i open the .exe it cant be started

pretty sure it's stuck at 20 fps though, so some may not like that

I know you can download videos from YouTube and what not... but it's best to ask the uploader's permission first. Besides, the 3DS' 10 minute limit is pretty awful and most things worth watching are over 10 minutes anyway.

And THIS basically makes it completely legal to download YouTube videos, provided you are only watching them yourself.

@Happy_Mask ...I don't think it's illegal to drop a video file on your SD card and watch it through your 3DS's camera app. I don't think a simple video converter that converts videos to .AVI is illegal either.

Not that anyone gives a snowball in hell, anyway. It's not like Nintendo's going to send Mario and Luigi to bust down your door and hop on your face for watching a video on your 3DS.

The Nintendo Video app only really gives you 2 or 3 at a time. Nothing to browse from what I can see.

That converter allows you to watch videos you downloaded in 3D.

They had to be in 3D in the first place though.

You can download Youtube videos onto your SD card,and watch the videos on the 3DS Camera app.
