Topic: The advantages of region changing

In my e-shop I didn't have any of the demos Europe had, so I changed my region setting to the UK. I went of the e-shop and managed to download another 3 different demos. May seem pointless but its a advantage in a way.

Would this work if you wanted to buy paid games on the e-shop that were not in your original e-shop? :/

I switch to the US shop sometimes so I can see more ratings than we have in the Canada shop. I think I would be able to buy from the US shop if I had US eShop cards or a US credit card, but I have no reason to do that, since there's no extra content.

@iphys - Well your lucky, here in NZ we have not got the good stuff, thats why I change to the European region.

I switch over to the EU shop all the time (I'm australian). It's a nearly 30% discount at the moment! All the games bought there work on Australian 3DS's, because technically it's the same region. The only thing which won't work are your eShop gift cards - you'll need to use a credit card to put funds onto your account. Also, money stays in its region so if you put money on one European region, you'll need to switch it to that region each time to access it.

Awesome. The UK e-shop prices are very good! I was hoping that we could use our Australian/NZ gift cards on the EU e-shop but knew it would not work. What games have you downloaded from EU?

Nano Assault EX, Picdun, Pop Island. I also plan to get Animal Crossing from the EU eShop when it's released - it's actually the cheapest way to get games on launch day.

Well, I bought some cash cards when I visited the USA earlier this week, I had to change my region to USA to be able to use them.

Are there any differences between UK and Spain? I remember that in its first month I got the Green Lantern movie trailer from the UK because it wasn't available in Spain. I haven't try since then and I'm wandering if I might have been missing stuff.

oh, just a bit of a caveat

If you change your region while you're downloading something from that region, the downloads stop. You can change your region back and go to the "Title's I've Downloaded" page to restart their downloads, so don't freak out and think that you just lost money. It's still annoying though if you're downloading something 9000 blocks strong and have to start again
