Played the tutorial. I like it, think I'll give the single and multiplayer a couple of go's before buying the full version.

It's actually pretty fun. I was skeptical, but itls free, so obviously I'm gonna try it. The graphics are quite "meh", but it's still pretty great.

can anybody who purchased premium version tell me what exactly you get?
is it just 9,99€ for everything or is there even more DLC you have to pay for?

The Premium version just unlocks the rest of the mission, which in turn, let's you unlock other ships as you complete them. It also lets you find all the crew members available. There's obviously goals you have to reach in order to get new subs though. I haven't bought the Premium, I'm just going by what I've heard in videos and they're just saying it unlocks all the missions..

If you haven't found out how to recruit crew members yet.. they are the purple dots on your radar during multiplayer matches.

In Multiplayer this game seems to be pay to win. Can anyone who owns premium confirm that?
Seems like the best ships are locked behind a paywall.

Has anyone experience any frame rate issues? I haven't even touched the game at the moment but that is the only concern I have about this game.

nope it's half pay to win, you have to beat the single player missions before unlocking any submarines even on premium

@Gamecubeman no framerate issues so far to me

So for multiplayer the best ships are locked behind a paywall? even if i have to unlock them in singleplayer. I can not play on equal grounds with someone who owns the premium version if i only own the free version (unless he gimps himself by choice). Thats pay to win. What a shame.

@Sinister yeah it's a shame only two ships on free version(but I didn't see anyone with the premium version ships so the two versions might be separated to keep balance, maybe, just maybe)

Odds are there is always going to be a couple people with free-to-play subs on both teams, making it fair. I fought against a sub that was a pay-to-win sub, the thing took like 2 times as many torpedos to take down and I beat him with about half my life left and he dropped a life crate which refilled a good chunk of my health. I was using the ship you can unlock from the free missions. I didn't have any crew either. Skill does come in to play with this game, so does some luck. I may have got lucky but I dodged a lot of his torpedos and came out victorious, he just kept trying to ram me while shooting. I imagine he wasn't very happy considering the amount of health he had over me.

playing online is a lot of fun too! I took down half the other team by myself(except they were confused and attacking each other so I took the opportunity) and a guy on my team kept trying to shoot me down!

Isn't this the first first-person game Nintendo has released since Metroid Prime 3: Corruption on Wii in 2007?

You know, I think I'm going to be forced to buy this game. It's really drawing me in and I want to play those ships I've unlocked from Multiplayer... o_o

Also.. this kind of gives me faith that Nintendo knows we've been asking for a multiplayer experience and this is them letting us know they've been listening. Not only that, it's free to try. I've never had trouble with connection issues yet and I'm on a pretty slow connection so that's promising, THOUGH, sometimes I do get kicked after a game which can be a hinderance. At least it's only happened after a loss and not during my 4 game win streak. I'm really looking forward to a game like this for the Wii U.. I think a Star Fox with multiplayer combat like this could be one of the best games to come to the Wii U. Let Peppy be a sign of whats to come.

Haven't tried the multiplayer yet (getting warmed up with the training mode & two free missions), but it's been interesting so far.

I fought off some "paid" subs with my second sub which I upgraded with two crewmen. Even if you have the best sub, once someone gets on your tail and gets a few hits at you, there is no cash that will save you. If there was a team of maxed out subs coming at you then it could be a problem, but so far game is mixing everyone, so you could see a level 20 sub with a lv 1 rookie in a team.
It's really fun so far, I got to level 14 and every game seems to be challenging in its own unique way.

@Sinister, they have both random & skill based match ups, so if you pick skill based, chances are you'll probably be matched up with other free players, evening the playing field.

With that said, I've been playing Random, and am having a blast even though I have the weakest sub. Like others have said, they generally divide things up pretty good though, even in random, so it's not much (if any) of a problem.
