For second I thought you meant Dragon Quest Heroes Rocket Slime 3, now I'll just go cry in the corner.

What do you mean? The 3DS version currently in Japan is the third game in the series, but would be the second for us if it got localised. I'm assuming they are talking about localising the 3DS version (if not possibly future titles) which would be Dragon Quest: Heroes: Rocket Slime 2 for us.

I make Pixel Art on occasion.

As you can see only Square Enix could pull off such a grand switcheroo.

Yes but it is the third game in the series which is why I'm referring to it as the third game.

On one hand, this is Square Enix. On the other hand, this is Square Enix.

Hey everyone it seems like Square Enix is making headlines this monday anyway i was on http://nintendoeverything.com Also what your thoughts on this?

Dude, why do you keep just posting the base part of the site when you have a Nintendoeverything link? As their name implies, they cover everything. That article's probably on page 4 by now (EDIT: Page 7!!!). :/ Is it physically impossible to link straight to the article or something? EDIT: Nope

Anyways, it sounds like they're actually more open to localizing Rocket Slime than DQ7. Weird, but also promising! Wonder if there's any polls on S-E's site I could vote on?

See what I mean? That's what makes Square Enix so funny! Their decisions are downright confusing.

To be fair, Dragon Warrior VII was one of the most bloated games out there - I think even DQ8 and 9 weren't as bad as far as how much sheer content and text there was - and I doubt they took out content in the remake. I can understand why they might be a little hesitant to go through that again on their own. Rocket Slime, however, was paltry in comparison, and even if the third entry has 5 times the amount of text, it'd still be quite a bit less of an undertaking than DQ7.

But...I want DQ7. So any decision that brings it over is smart and any other decision is stupid. :(

No seriously, guys, we're talking Xenoblade-levels of content here. Just completing the main story could take you 100+ hours, and forget 100% completion. That could take a lifetime. Not to mention how annoying it could be in the original with all the missables and hidden stuff strewn throughout the game.

Rocket Slime would be like localizing a Zelda game in scale.

They said its a amount of text issue as to why they would consider Rocket Slime as opposed to DQ7. I do hope it gets localized. Rocket Slime 3 is a lovely game.

They may have initially tried to sell it as a kids game, but damn was the DS version great. I'm pretty sure I've sunk dozens of hours into the multiplayer mode alone.

Not disputing that at all number two was one of my favourite DS games.
