And it was the very same date after all. Just shows it pays not to read too much into things. Stories will be a fun distraction while we wait for World.

Well...the demo pretty much confirmed everything people told me about the game. Obviously don't know if it gets any better (or worse) but that was really...dull. That area is incredibly bland, music's damn near non-existent and what little is there seemed fairly unmemorable, the presentation is borderline embarrassing and the game play is, at a surface level, pretty lame.

Oh well, Metroid on 3ds is still a thing I guess.

What a beautiful signature.

@Tsurii I feel exactly the opposite. I really like that the monsters work apart from you and that each has a certain behaviour ( I think it can be slightly determined through different hatching if I remember correctly) and that the difficulty is higher than in pokemon games. When it comes to presentation it's really similar to pokemon, but considering that the customization is far better I'm enjoying it more than in pokemon games. The open map looks great and the ability to avoid confrontation is appreciated. The place is also full of resources, so getting items that allow you to level up a recently hatched monster or upgrades to armor are accesible since the demo.

Getting a good egg is really hard though (unless I'm not able to get the best one son the demo) since I've only been able to get slightly better eggs than the avegare one.

It's fun so far. I love how many aspects of this game's design call back to the normal Monster Hunter games.

@roy130390 From what I can tell, better eggs tend to come from more difficult, sometimes optional areas, like a labyrinth or a 50-floor endurance test tower.

@meleebrawler Yeah, it seems that eggs with slight smell in gold nests are the best you can get in this demo. My rarest monster is a blue Yian Kut-Ku for the moment.

Ok, beginning of Sept., I'm going on a week-long trip on the second half. xD
I can nab this then.

Next question. (lol)
This game doesn't have anything like Pokemon's EVs/IVs right?

@Joeynator3000 Aaaahh haha I don't know how to answer that... It kinda does... since there's a random factor that influences your monster's status ( how heavy and smelly the egg is). It's not as important as it is in pokemon, but it does make a difference. You can also modify the natural element of a creature to surprise an opponent. I think there's more stuff that was eplained in the video I saw but I can't remember well.

So I downloaded the demo and tried it out. My decision is made, I will definitely be getting the full game when it releases. I'm not too far into the demo (don't know how long it lasts), but I'm already enjoying it.

The more I think about it, the more I realize this "demo" (it's really more of an early access) is an ingenious way to allow players a chance to get through all the duller tutorial segments that tend to plague games like this without spending a dime, so that once they get a taste of the world opening up and put down cash for the game, they won't have to be forced to sit and relearn everything again.

Has this been said anywhere? As far as I know, you can only transfer items from the demo, not entire data.

Welp, demo is over...ah well. At least I can hold onto what I have and don't have to deal with all the tutorials again. lol

Little question about Monster Hunter Stories.
I tried the demo but ......
I couldn't even speed up the speech during events.
But I can speed up the speech during Normal talking with villagers or NPCs (Press A button repeatedly)
Is it also happened on Japan version full game ?

@Reginald it says it on the Nintendo website. It says and I quote " The downloadable demo lets you play through the first few hours of the game, and all of your progress, including the monsters and items you collect, can be transferred over to the main game after purchasing it. Get a head start on your adventure! The Nintendo eShop demo officially launches August 10th"

Want: Ultra Sun/Moon, Mario Party Top 100, Atlus games, Psychic Spectres for the 3DS. For the Switch Super Mario Odyssey, Kirby Star Allies, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and many others.
Finished the Alola Dex.
Now playing Gold and SuperStar Saga.

LegendOfPokemon

I tried the demo and it just bored me. It probably gets better later, but I'm not a Monster Hunter fan anyway so I'll be skipping this one.

Currently Playing: Paper Mario: Color Splash (which is actually pretty fun 😅)
