Topic: Is anyone else bothered by this decision......

Once again Nintendo mildly baffles me by not having the Smash special edition in the west (well EU right now) as the "New 3DS XL" when clearly the system will be the best way to play the game portable but has it planned for Japan, I can't understand how this is not a global thing do these different regional divisions not talk to each other?

Japan Smash 3DS console.

West Smash 3DS console.

TL:DR This would have been a great game to bundle with the new console world wide.

I am personally not a fan of having all those characters with all those details on my 3DS, I would have preferred just the Title or Logo

Japan's is nicer but the hardware is coming out in Japan this year. They could have just skipped the west with the 3ds special edition. I might jump on that monster hunter bundle though. Nintendo may have just convinced me to buy that game.

Yes this sucks, for a moment there I thought that we will be getting the new version, but no...why bother, eventhough the mew version is clearly the definitive handheld console to play it on...

I play on my Xerneas/Yveltal Blue 3ds XL all the time you just have to keep it in great condition heck I've had it nearly a year now and it still looks brand new. I would never pay potentially hundreds for a console to stare at it in a box.

The only things I buy and keep in the box are controllers if they are dirt cheap for some reason and I think the next time it will be really expensive.

I have untouched spare nunchuck / classic controller / classic controller pro ready for when I might need one.

I might do it for a console if it was in a firesale at 70% off or something but pretty much only then.

I'm bothered that Reggie seems to have no interest in moving hardware at all. He lets popular Wii U bundles go out of stock and pretty much leaves it to third parties to come up with interesting bundles for 3DS.

The design difference does bother me, but the japanese one doesn't look that much better. Still wouldn't get it.

Then I guess you missed the announcement of two new bundles for the Wii U, one comes with a physical copy of Super Mario 3D World & Nintendoland and the other is a Walmart exclusive bundle of Mario Kart 8 (physical copy) & physical copy of Nintendoland.

I think that the "new" 3DS will be released in 2015. I would bet that it'll be released in the fall of next year
