I actually loved the Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald generation. I loved the secret bases, the reporter and camera man I could keep fighting forever, the landscape, and the story. I also loved how the pokedex was a mix of old and new pokemon.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

This might start a gen-war and get locked, but I'll put in my two cents anyway.

My favorite gen HAD to be Gen 4. Admit it. A lot of the Pokemon in Gen 4 were epic. (Burmy, Bidoof and Male Combee were terrible, but I don't care about them, I'm specifically talking about Luxray, Garchomp, Gallade, etc.) Sinnoh had a lot of things to do. Team Galactic were the best villains in my opinion besides Team Rocket and Team Plasma. And the story was simply awesome. Of course that's just my opinion.

If you take each generation in itself, my favorite line-up of all new Pokemon is probably still the first generation. I think Gen V is the only one that has had a poor line-up of new Pokemon though.

My favorite installment of Pokemon all things considered though is a tie between Fire Red/Leaf Green and X/Y. FR/LG struck a perfect balance between Gen I nostalgia and the updated mechanics and expanded Pokedex of Gen III. And of course X/Y have been fantastic.

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

3th gen
-I like a lot of the Pokemon, and don't really hate any
-Tropical theme
-Secret Bases (This would work perfect with Streetpass..)
-2 Teams, (albeit silly goals, but its nowhere near as silly as Galactic/Flare. and Magma/Aqua at least have cool costumes and names)
-Diving

Gen 2 is a close second

1-3 were my favorites. 4 was when I started to lose interest, but it was still ok, then I completely skipped B&W1&2. I now have Y version, but I hardly play it :/

I had FireRed, and I liked that, but Soul Silver wasn't really my thing, even though it was arguably the best game, having 2 regions in 1.

Magikarp3

I grew up with 3 (like a lot of others on this site it seems).

I lost interest at 4. I realise looking back now that it's because 4 was the slowest game - battles really took forever compared to the other gens.

always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)

Gen 2: Oh snap, I got a phone and I can now breed pokemon, and Shiny Dunsparce but still can't find mew under that truck >:[
Gen 3: Never play it, I was too cool for pokemon around my high school time. also Mew can stay under that truck for all I care.
Gen 4: Oh snap, online battles and trading, I can finally find that mew! But all I keep getting are Bidoofs >:[
Gen 5: Everyone in college is playing it, everyone at work is playing it, even everyone who don't play pokemon is playing it, and I even found that Mew
Gen 6: New Pokémon, new world, and new problems >:[ Still waiting for PokeBank, I never get my Mew again >:[

I don't really judge pokemon by gen, only by whole, and as a whole, my favorite will always be Pokémon Trading Card game

My favorite to this day is Gen 2. Just when I had thought I was having the time of my life playing the Red version, Gold and Silver came along and blew my expectations clean out of the water. The new starters were all great--though Cyndaquil always has been and will be my top choice--and the flow kept the good times going. Shiny Pokemon kept me searching even when I already had the Pokemon in question. The Elite Four was challenging yet breezy enough for multiple showdowns. And on top of that, players were rewarded for their Elite Four battle by being given the go-ahead to revisit Kanto. Battling Brock and Misty had never been more hair-raising And to conclude the entire experience, players were able to face a former shadow of themselves--Trainer Red at the top of Mt. Silver. I still get chills when I go up against him.

Though I've loved every Pokemon game that I've played, Gold, Silver and Crystal still hold a special place in my heart, and will probably always be my favorite games of the series.

I really wish they'd do a TCG for the 3DS.

one thing is true. Pokémon TCG owns all other Pokémon Games. we need a 3DS version with all the card Collections in it(if Yu-Gi-Oh! games can do it why can't Pokémon TCG?)

The lastest versions are usually my favorites. I shudder thinking back at a time when the only way to catch them all was with a action replay and/or someone else close by with the same gen games with a link cable. Now a days we can communicate with anyone around the world with ease.

On a side note, I wish the pokemon tcg got enough love back when it first came out. Too bad kids was only into the main series back then and only collecting (not batting) with the physical cards. Hope they decide to revive the game though.

A dying animal struggles, thrashes and howls in protest as its life torn from it. To see this in action, watch Animal Planet. The same thing happens when a video game is or isn't released. To see this in action, stay here.

gen 3 because it has 2 cactus pokemon. Gen 5 is a close second since it had 1 cactus pokemon.

Who are you running from? (?_?)/
someday there will be a cactus pokemon, that is actually good.
