I've just been into the European eShop and seen a news item saying that "Due to maintenance Nintendo eShop will be temporarily unavailable from 19:00 GMT (21:00 CEST) on 25th August 2011 until 01:00 GMT (03:00 CEST) on 26th August 2011" I make that 6 hours total. Just thought I'd spread it around. I wonder what they're doing - anybody know? Also whether the same will happen with the US eShop?
Still can't think of a better place to kill some time. Playing Solatorobo and Pokemon White. Waiting for Animal Crossing 3DS - it's taking forever.
My initial thoughts, like you, were that it might be related to the Ambassador program, but that slipped my mind in favour of a major restructure. I quite like the little regularly changing specialist departments which showcase different titles, but additionally I'd also like to see a department where ALL the DSiWare is displayed in alphabetical order like it is in the DSiWare shop. I don't find the in-shop search tool very efficient, and it can take ages to page through all the random DSiWare mini screens. I suppose faster running would make the above things easier, but I'm a sucker for old fashioned alphabetical orderliness. What I really hoped for, however, was a restructuring in readiness to Nintendo announcing that DSiWare would be playable from the SD card, which I think is something a lot of people would really welcome. That would require a 3DS system update as well, presumably. One can live in hopes
Thats strange, I can log onto the eshop and I live in England.
You should be able to, as the maintenance doesn't begin until this Friday.
In regards to what they're changing, I have a feeling it doesn't have to do with the Ambassador program. I'm sure they're just going to add another little menu that will house all of the games and I don't think they'll need to shut down the shop to prepare that. They could be testing how to only get it on specific systems or something like that, though. Who knows?? hahah

I just realised that I read the first post wrong and thought they meant that the eshop was down until Thursday rather than it being down on Thursday and Friday.
