I was leaning towards digital copies as I would not have to carry around cartridges (and I recently lost my copy of Super Mario 3D land) but my 3DS recently died and I had to send my console off to be repaired. Nintendo advised me that they could not guarantee that my 3DS would not be fully wiped when they returned it to me which was a bit scary because I spent quite a lot of money downloading titles.

There is something about purchasing a game in a shop which is brand new and sealed, and also having that new game smell.....too weird?

Not weird at all, my friend, and i absolutely agree with you on the former. It worries me too, which is one of the reasons I choose physical.

This 100%. Though Steam doesn't bother me much, so maybe 90%.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

Depends. If you're playing an Xbox One, you'll still need Microsoft's permission to play your game >:3

That's because Microsoft is all about quantity rather than quality. Games, movies, TV, Internet, livestreams, social networking, you have everything on the XBox One... but what about the games. Nintendo works on unique franchises with unique mechanics, and Sony works on their technology on making games more beautiful and faster. Microsoft wants their money. I'm not sure how "Used" games are going to work because I'm a Nintendo guy... obviously, but I heard that you have to go through a process in order to play a borrowed or used game on another XBox One.

I prefer digital. I truly believe Nintendo will add a combined account eventually. Not that I'm counting on it, mind you.

I never trade in or sell games, and I'll play a game for no reason out of the blue. I can switch games on the fly, and going digital gives me a ton of memory I can use besides for game files if I need it. I know that Art Academy Sketchbook or whatever saves your drawings on the HDD. I could draw thousands of pictures if I really wanted to, since alot of memory goes along with choosing digital in regards to memory required to do so.

I don't think Nintendo's digital front is as bad as alot make it out to be. I take care of my stuff, so perhaps that's why it wouldn't matter as much, although it still does.

I am worried about losing my system, or having the data corrupted, but I would rather have digital. Not having to carry around cartridges is great. I can switch between games by just going to the home screen. I have been backing up my files on my computer every couple weeks, but hope that Nintendo will allow me to redownload them on possible future devices.

That said... at 12:01 on the 12th I will be in the eShop.

This is why XBox is the last game system ever mentioned in a discussion now, Microsoft will never get a foothold in the gaming industry. I pray Nintendo does not make the same mistake and comes to it's senses, increasing cartridge production to fill the store shelves again and thus giving us the choice. Box art and being able to hold the game in your hands is most of the personal value for that game.
