Topic: Concern: Where's the hype for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire?

Was anybody else mindly disturbed by this image with the honedge in it?

I actually find it pretty brutal for a pokemon game like this with honedge depicted.. pokemon were sliced in halves during the war.

A little dark if you ask me.. (EDIT: actually there are two honedges.. one at the bottom and one above it.. and the eyes are blue so no doublade)

Haahhaha the Pokemon War doesn't really have a explanation besides that war broke among Pokemon and many Pokemon died... then AZ showed up and did something.... Hahahha I don't even remember anymore. The animations for the Pokemon War was cool but the explanation made zero sense.

BUT I WILL SAY THAT THE POKEMON WAR COULD BE ITS OWN GAME IF GAMEFREAK DID IT RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!! THERE IS POTENTIAL THERE!!!!!!!!!

Pokemon warriors is next after hyrule.

I don't think az did anything.. I think he was like "I don't care about them I just want my pokemon to live forever! Oh whoops stepped on a dead solrock now I need new shoes.. hey there's a dead guy over there with some cool looking shoes!"

I can't really speak for anyone else, but I was hoping that they would do less of a copy/paste approach in this game than they did with FRLG and HGSS. I mean, after BW2 which completely raised the bar in terms of what mid gen games can do, copy/paste feels really dated and boring. I wasn't quite expecting a sequel because then the younger players couldn't truly experience the originals, but I was at least hoping for some new areas and a Pokedex expansion. And the region design, based on the map and screenshots we've been given, seems to be really blocky and doesn't seem to take advantage of the 3D graphics, it looks more like something that belongs in Minecraft. The game in general just looks like a needless step backwards for the sake of nostalgia, and it's not quite as exciting as other recent games. I could go into much more detail about this, but that's basically the gist of it.

It's a remake who cares? It's good and we're gonna buy it but it's not like it's something we haven't experienced before, yes people want the game we're just not uber-hyped for a remake. We're not burned out it's just that a remake (which we all knew would happen eventually) is not something to freak out about.
@Stomatopod17 IDK maybe I missed something in the story (because the story in Pokemon games tend to be as dull as a rock) but why exactly were pokemon at war with no humans being involved. It's like a bunch of animals just suddenly decide on their own to have a war. IDK I just thought the story in X and Y was so stupid. How has that guy stayed alive waiting for his pokemon which apparently was gone for thousands of yrs? If there was a huge pokemon war how come it was never mentioned before (feels like a big part of history to leave out of every pokemon game up until now).

Can't argue with how stupid x/y's story was.. but usually the stories are good.. BW's storyline was beautiful.. well maybe not zekrom/reshiram's backstory but the game's progression story itself.. and the ending where you have a Legendary battle with N, epic. DPP was also really good, everything seems normal, progression is pretty straight forward, etc. etc.. RSE's was also very good.. the only problem was how annoying and hard to achieve anything was in the game.. the water routes? Better have a ton of repels on you.. Whoever caught all the golems without a single guide deserves a medal... but as far as everything's backstory, it was flawless.

GSC I never played so I can't say anything about that.. same for 1st gen.

Another thing was the villians..
Gen 1, villians want to steal everybody's pokemon.. ok that's good.
Gen 2, I think the same?
Gen 3, TWO clans battles each other trying to either flood the world or make more land for each of their own reasons. Ok I guess.. they both have reasonable goals and is threatening.
Gen 4, Team galatic was searching to control legendary pokemon and the world. Not bad.
Gen 5, PETA is the villian, Big selling point right there! (Don't get me wrong I'm all for animal right's but peta is rediculous..)
All good.. then what do we get in x/y?
Gen 6, Team flare.. already a cheesy name who doesn't sound any different from magma.. wants to kill all life, themselves, and get what in return? Seriously.. they want to make the world beautiful by simply killing every living thing? Halo meets pokemon all sentient life dies inorder to stop the flood.. except there is no flood or anything in a similar position for that matter.

When I saw team flare's outfits I was like.. "Really.. basicly one color nothing cool like cipher and galatic's clothing?"

@Stomatopod17 actually team Flare is a bad team Galatic ripoff since both wanted to use the legendary Pokémon to creat a new world by destroying the current one.

But I don't believe team flare is able to actually control them though, so they know they are going to kill themselves as well. They were basicly going to "fire the rings" and kill everything.

Again didn't follow the story as thoroughly incase I'm not speaking truth

@Stomatopod17 that's part of why they're a bad ripoff, they fail at even thinking an important part of the plan while team Galatic almost succeeded

I'm not too sure, i've noticed a fair amount of my friends actually decide to pick up a 3DS purely for this remake but I haven't really noticed any hype, I think the main reason for the lack of hype is probably just because it's another remake, I don't think Heartgold Soul Silver got too much hype either, even though they were remakes of fantastic games and had some extra features.

Pokemon Platinum is my favorite game of all time for so many reasons. Gamefreak executed that game perfectly and beautifully. The story was awesome, so much content, INCREDIBLY user friendly, Sinnoh was fun to explore, and the list just runs on. I really wish Gamefreak would revisit Sinnoh with the same exact team that created Pokemon Platinum.

Pokemon Black and White were really good games, too. The story in Unova was not that bad. Ghetsis, N, the Shadow Triad... all that stuff was interesting.

Pokemon games actually can pull of a story and become a masterpiece. Gamefreak needs to revisit the games were they did amazing jobs.

I think you just didn't pay attention to it. It wasn't a Pokemon war, it was a war between Kalos and a rival region and both humans and Pokemon were fighting. Also, the reason AZ managed to survive for 3000 years is because the Ultimate Weapon had made him immortal. Now I agree that XY's storyline is bad, but not for those reasons. It was bad primarily because it was light and poorly paced, Team Flare was just doing random evil team stuff up until the final confrontation, and it felt really boring and generic until then.

Pokemon Platinum was indeed the best Pokemon game ever, but I don't trust Game Freak to do it justice when it comes time to remake DP. The current direction Game Freak has gone in is just so unfriendly to older players it's ridiculous, the games are completely idiotproof to the point where even a braindead monkey could beat them, and they've been stripping out gameplay content even more than they used to.

Sad... but you actually have a point. Compare Team Galactic and Cyrus to Lysandre and Team Flare............ Cyrus was a freaking psychotic mastermind and he was crazy. What a awesome character. And Lysandre... ugh.... What a joke of a evil villain.
