Topic: Cant teach flash to any pokemon (blue)

Yea, I need it for rock tunnel. at later gens flash become something that only makes exploring a cave a bit more easy, but in gen 1 its pitch black if you dont use it. I guess you can find your way with or without it, but I prefer using it and save myself the troubles of getting lost in the dark XD

Rock tunnel is far from being pitch black. The darkness does not hide the layout of the cave at all.

All flash does is show you the few (mostly unavoidable) trainers that dwell there.

There's absolutely no items in the cave, either, not even hidden ones. So you won't be missing anything.

The only games where dark caves are 100% dark are the second gen ones. There flash is very much necesary, but the caves are 100% optional.

If you don't want to go through the trouble of catching a Pokemon for one HM that you won't need again, it's probably best to just look at a map of the cave:
