Anyone know if those Rocketfish screen protectors (Best Buy) are any good? Seem like the only ones I can find in-store other other than the PowerA ones at ebgames..
http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/rocketfish-rocketfish-3ds...

Also how easily does the touch screen scratch? Just using fingers and the stylus? I'm just worried because I want to try painting on the Colors! 3D app...

If you use anything but the stylus you are probably going to scratch it. As for screenprotectors go I hear that Hori are the best around.

i have never used the rocketfish ones. I had bought a 3DS XL starter kit. I've seen the one I bought at my ebGames, it's by collective minds and it worked great. On my newly bought XL I have a Hori one and I love it.

Want: Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneering Town, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury

Finished the Alola Dex.
Now playing New Horizons, Wrath of White Witch and Sword

I've been using the Hori protectors for years and have generally been satisfied, but let me tell you, these are much better. ...

Now, I've only used the product once, but it applied perfectly without a single bubble and it doesn't scratch. It's also very good at reducing glare. Don't let the price fool you — this is a good product. The gel sleeve that comes with it is also good. Tell them Spear sent you.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I guess I'm going to have to search around for some better ones.. I've heard good things about the Hori and also Barrier Chief ones, but those are only available online and isn't an option for me at the moment. We have such a poor selection of 3DS XL accessories available in Canada sadly.. I will only be using the stylus, so I'm not too worried for the time being.

I bought a screen protector from this seller on eBay (they're in Oakville, Ontario) for $3.99 including free shipping, and it works perfectly. I was really impressed by the quality of the product and packaging. Check them out if you use eBay...

I got a Rocketfish one for free when I bought my XL. I haven't tried it out yet but it seems as though you've got an answer anyways.

Could you let me know how it goes if when you put it on? Looks like I might end up getting the Rocketfish one

It works pretty well but as you can see in my picture:

You can still see the stickiness on the left side and I'm not sure how to get that off.

i don't care for screen protectors; they just alter the feel too much for me. i have never scratched the screens so i must have a light touch or something.

Yikes! how did that happen is right.,, that looks so icky. Are you sure you applied the correct sheet? I read somewhere that people were putting on the adhesive shield instead of the actual protector, not sure if this is the case. I know this particular one doesn't come with very clear instructions...

So I just bought the Rocketfish ones from Best Buy.. since I couldn't find the cheaper PowerA one at ebgames.

Yes, it's terrible that it doesn't include any instructions! It's no wonder why so many people have had problems. Just to be on the safe side, I experimented with the regular 3ds one before attempting to put the bigger one on my 3ds xl.

Once you do get it on it works well enough.. if anyone was wondering. Though I'm sure the Hori ones are of much better quality. Not sure how long it will last, but I guess it's cheaper to replace one of these than the screen itself. Will probably replace it with a better one in the future.

@Fiv3Score: I ordered Hori screen protectors from Play-Asia while I was in Toronto and I didn't have to pay duty.

@Pikminsi: Try using another of the same type of screen protector to lift the adhesive off of the screen. The adhesive should stick to itself and come off.

The PowerA ones aren't really that bad. They've improved alot making screen protecters over the years. The first DS and DS Lite screen protectors were horrible by Nintendo licensed companies.
I bought an XL starter pack mainly for the stylus yesterday, and just put on the protectors the the heck of it. There was already a few scratches, but might as well prevent more. I would say the PowerA ones are pretty identical.
The scratches from normal play will never effect your gaming, but if you NEVER use a screen protcetor, and play rough, your whole screen is gonna look pretty fuzzy.
My first DS looked like I played everyday as rough as I could since I got it, which I did. Haha.
