Am I the only person who thinks this is the worst D pad ever created? I haven't seen anyone say anything other than great things about it, but I can't think of anything good about it. I find it almost impossible to play retro games with the D pad and the circle pad isn't much of a step up in that department.
All of this is just my opinion of course. And sorry if there is already a thread complaining about the 3DS D pad.
It's almost not there. It's so small and sunk in moreso than any other D pad that I've ever seen and the clickiness drives me crazy. I didn't have a DSi, I had a DS lite the D pad on it looked the same as the 3DS only it was raised and wasn't clicky, more squishy.
On the 3DS it feels like I have to feel around for the right spot or it won't click and my little Mario wont movie. It is so aggrevating.
Its just a D-pad, you'll get used to it. As long it doesn't break on me, I'm ok with it.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
I'm not moaning. If you want me to moan, I can sure moan about the 3DS. I was just wondering if people felt the same about the D pad and so far more people like it or are neutral than dislike it.
The DPad on my 3DS makes an annoying noise when I try to change directions in (as in, I change from Up to Right without releasing the pad), much like the one on my PSP does
I think it's great. I use it for most of my games now including Virtual Console, DS and some 3DS games. You just have to shift your left hand down some and you'll get used to it. I found absolutely no problems with mine

if you want to try a really bad d-pad, try the one in xbox360 controller. You can't even tell which direction are you pressing.
So true I cant stand the 360 cross pad.
As for the 3DS cross pad I find it actually easier to play the VC games like Kirby and SML with the cross pad rather than the circle pad. I dont know maybe its cause I grew up playing those games with a cross pad that just makes it feel weird to me when I use the circle pad. Now when I navigate the web on the 3DS or the menus I use the circle pad. As far as the clicky I havent really noticed it so I guess it doesnt bother me. Also I have not had a problem getting my Mario to move when pressing the cross pad but who knows to each their own I guess.
