@HappyMaskedGuy in many ways i agree.... however BOTW has made my 3hrs of commuting a day pass like a breeze. When at home i put it through my projector and get lost in the beautiful world.
Since beating Zelda my life/commute has been much less fun. Re running Lego City, which following the most recent update runs really nicely (once loaded) on handheld
all in all - the Switch is something that i've been wanting for years. I can't wait for VC to go through all the SNES/GBA/N64/Wii etc games I missed.... ***sigh***
have taken the leap of faith and downloaded Turf masters...
I must be missing something - it doesn't seem to let the Left and Right Joy-Con to be player 1 and 2, it just has them mirror the commands - ie both act as player one.... anyone else playing it and solved this?? thought that was the whole point of the Switch - play mini games with friends!!
I'm using my switch in my prime spot.... about 4m away as I'm lucky enough to have a projector/screen setup. It happens to also be the corner of the lounge where my phone comes in, so check - wireless router + wireless phone, then add in the hdmi streamer to the projector (that btw killed the wii u in that room as the screen transmitted on the same wave length and I couldn't alter either frequency....)
First 25mins Zelda was awesome then multiple complete L drop outs... and lots of no response / keep running off cliffs.... sigh
Shame as was really enjoying it till then!
Reading a couple of other posts... I do have an iPhone and iwatch on Bluetooth... which I wear on my left wrist... maybe will kill those Bluetooth connections now I know
@PaperLucario is 8 player smash an option? if you need two USB slots for an adapter... I have a portable HDD already using 2 slots anyone know if you can use the adaptor with just one USB??
I much prefer this to version to Ghosts (sold it back within two weeks) and I've just this week starting having a few online matches... so i'm a happy man!
done! just picked up my copy - they even gave me another random discount of 1p... taking it down to 29.98... as @andrea987 said 'no brainer'
was waiting for a rainy day to pick it up - but also hadn't had the chance to impulse purchase it as @ULTRA-64 says the UK retail presence is non existent there is only Argos in my town selling Wii U stuff... and always really expensive.
@Nintenjoe64 Ghosts has a reasonable number of players, most of the core games have a party going on... I just found that the colour scheme was drab so unless you have a huge high res screen you can't see people before they see you... and level size vs player number ratio was off... so you'd hunt around for people, only to get hit by a camper... grrrr
CODII is even worse, can't even get a core Ground War (which was great as it has the most people and rotates through KK / domination)
digital games are great BUT... I for one am not going to buy any full priced download games, for one reason, resale. I've been stung recently. I had a 3DS with Zelda LBW and Mario 3D on it... completed them, wanted to sell the system, but couldn't recoup my investment as you have to format the 3DS unless you want to leave your Nin ID and therefore eshop on it... (I don't have another 3DS to transfer to) On the flip side, I purchased a disc version of COD Ghosts (only because the player number on CODII dropped off a cliff) and really don't like it... so I can turn around and sell it and just take a small hit, rather than 100% of my outlay... I need to finance my next purchases somehow!
i've really enjoyed BOP2 on wii u... apart from the lack of people playing online at any one time... so i agree with @nintenjoe64 ... Ghosts will just deplete that number even more. its chicken and egg... should i convert to Ghosts early and run around on my own... or wait till more people have it?
What i do really value is the fact i don't have to buy a monthly 'pass' to play online so thumbs up to nintendo for that!
for me... i'll pass. I actually think that the wire from the charger to the gamepad is long enough (and light enough once passed the converter block) to be un-noticed. I can't take the gamepad out of the room that the Wii U is in... so i don't have the luxury of playing in bed. Nice idea though
the Amazon increase could be due to price drop... the NL pic above showed £229... price just now on Amazon is back up to 269.99... money talks (although you can get it from others via Amazon for ~230... but does 3rd party purchase count towards sales??)
oh Microsoft... all you need to do now to make me even happier is to let Banjo Kazooie, Conkers and Goldeneye to come onto Wii U VC...
I'm loving Lego City apart from the load times... geeeeeees from turning the WiiU on to actually playing is 5+ mins. NLife - any rumours of a upcoming patch for the game to help load times??
I took the 'entry level' way into Wii U and got the basic package... 'saving' me money? but no Nintendo Network Premium and just shelled out for an external HDD... that will teach me.
I live in a village... no cable broadband here... downloading The Cave took the best part of an evening. I'm happy to download small indie games etc or VC, but retail games, not a chance - 19GB for Lego City!!!! nah, pre ordered and i get a free lego toy (give to my son, to placate the wife)... oh and physical is cheaper, and once i'm finished I can trade it in and buy another game.
Nintendo UK have an uphill battle - and this is from a Nintendo fan / Wii U owner [that I got cheap from a liquidation sale... shows the state of retailers]
No advertising in stores on the high street, no word of mouth, not made it into supermarkets where the Wii / DS is still on the shelves. There is only one shop in my town that sells a few Wii U games, but no display model to trial things (though they have a 3DS stand...)
come on Nintendo its not going to happen by magic! I remember the Wii launch period - you couldn't move for demos in shops / shopping centres.
Games on their own won't matter... unless people outside of the already aware/owners get to hear about them / try them.
If i have to tell another person that the Wii U is not just a new controller for the Wii... grrr
just seen a LEGO City toy set including Chase Figure + police car and Crooks + code to unlock vehicles and secret missions in the Wii U, so LEGO are doing some joined up merchandising... my son isn't old enough for me to justify purchasing the lego set just yet though...
too right Sonic-doom, It took me long enough to realise the U was a whole new console not just a new controller. I've lost count of people saying - 'oh you bought a new controller for your Wii' ... and when I say no, they just ask what's the difference... and apart from Nintendo land... I don't have much to say yet.
Have pre-Ordered Lego City... £45 including gteed delivery on day of release...
might have been asked - tried to trawl through - so apologies if already answered.
If I start out with a small HDD like 250GB, and fill it up... how would I go about moving the files to another HDD, can the Wii U handle two HDD at a time?
If the HDD is formatted only for Wii U use then I couldn't just copy via a PC/Laptop...?
@sun completely agree loved Mario Golf on gcube / GBA - the link between the games, RPG element on the handheld to level the character up... then stomp on the competitors!
I've tried to enjoy the the TW on the wii... but found them all - no matter what new claims they have each year - to be not fun. I haven't enjoyed playing TW since the Gamecube. Now bring on a new version of Wii Sports golf - with the ball view on the gamepad - that would be awesome.

Re: LEGO City: Undercover Sells Best on Switch in UK as Yo-kai Watch 2 Endures Poor Launch
@Marios-love-child did you play docked or undocked?
Re: Review: LEGO City: Undercover (Switch)
I LOVED this on WiiU and was lining it up as a post Zelda game.
i'd like to test the 'undocked' play before buying to see if the frame rate really would be unplayable. is there going to be a demo on the switch?
Re: Lego City Undercover Still Has Ridiculous Load Times on Switch
@Nik-Davies i get time to read at least 4 bits of 'advice' on every warp....
Re: Lego City Undercover Still Has Ridiculous Load Times on Switch
to be fair.....
every time i warp in Zelda BOTW it takes 20-30seconds to load... whats new?
i have a cartridge BOTW, is it quicker if downloaded??
Re: Review: Neo Turf Masters (Switch eShop / Neo Geo)
don't tell me you need a second set of Joy con's to play two player....
surely thats a backward step!?!
the sooner Mario Golf comes to switch the better!
Re: Review: Neo Turf Masters (Switch eShop / Neo Geo)
fellow Turf players and @Damo .... help!!!
how do i get the P2 to work on the switch? i've added lots of credits... but no button on either Joy-Con seems to act as the Start button for P2

Re: Mario Golf: Advance Tour
@TheJudge i had the same thought, will VC games be able to link to other VC games - for example with the Toadstool tour if GC games ever get released
I still have this cartridge and played it recently on my DS, still great fun.
