Re: Pizza Tower Finally Dashes Onto Switch Today

@N00BiSH this is a lot better of controversy context then that one dead Twitter link. People are free to read that and do what they will in terms of how they feel about supporting the game. Seeing those discord messages does nothing to change my personal opinion about it though. As a matter of fact (and lambast me all y'all may cause idc) the messages remind me of stuff I say to my friends honestly. I've seen this level of speaking before because I do it, and you can tell there's mega sarcasm in most of those messages, so I'm still not convinced dude's a bigot or anything. Like I said: personal opinion.

Yeah I'm not looking at a single Twitter post with a accusation that contains a dead link as a deciding factor for whether I buy this game or not. There's gotta be more than that. I've beaten the game on steam and it's pretty dang good. No offensive caricatures to be seen iirc. I'm not going to scour Twitter/the internet for dirt on devs before I play a game, because if I did that, there would be no games left to play

Re: Metroid Dread: Raven Beak Final Boss Battle - How To Beat Raven Beak

Came to say I feel for those who got spoiled here. I avoided looking at any news feeds in fear for this happening, and I'm glad I beat the game before I saw any of this.

@Xansies The thing here is that there could have been more to the story and a twist happens to make it so that Raven's Beak wasn't the final boss. Everyone knew he was a threat you'd probably have to take down since the first cutscene of the game, sure, but that doesn't mean it was going to be obvious he's the final boss. Even if they didn't spoil the (numerous) twist(s), I think it's still not that tasteful to have an article like this display name or picture for maybe a month or so tbh. If people want to know about how to defeat this boss, they'll search it up themselves anyway.

@Richnj There can be reasons as to why people haven't gotten around to it yet. Some ordered physical copies from stores that haven't yet shipped it out. Some have prior commitments they needed to take care of to get around to the game. I'd be more sympathetic to a comment like this if it were maybe a month or two past release, you still haven't gotten the game, and are worried about spoilers, and even then, circumstances happen

Okay so

@Yosher
I know games these days can indeed be predatory and we must be careful to guard against that and not let companies get the better of us monetarily. I do appreciate people like you being on guard about this.

In my opinion though, I don't think this is very predatory. I've taken no more than a few minutes to look at the paid cosmetics and say "meh, not interested for now" and go on to complete 250+ hours of the game and counting. Them coming out with this on day one is a bit interesting, to your credit though, but (and here's where I disagree with you the most) I personally don't understand how this could sour a whole entire game for you. To me it's like going to the grand opening of an amusement park and being turned off by the fact that they sell souvenirs on day one. I'd be there just for the rides. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but that's how I'm reading this and I'm sure you feel the way you feel for a reason. I am glad you decided to share your opinion though.

@JaxonH for the most part I agree with what you're talking about, but one thing I do want to point out (to Yosher's credit, probably) is that since the game was announced in the Nintendo direct back last year, in that announcement trailer we had been informed on the deluxe edition and what was in it, and I assume they were still working on the game by this time, so this was probably pre-planned to have this sold alongside the game.
