Woohoo!! Haven't bought New Super Mario Bros. Wii - will for sure pick it up at that price - bought Galaxy 2 in March - really wish it wasn't 50, but still well worth that much
@LDXD said nothing about a review - I said Nintendo should release that game on the Wii U virtual console. I would like to play it for the first time and would rather not do that in Wii mode.
@nomeacuerdo I'm happy Nintendo sticks to gaming - I already have an Apple TV for all of my video entertainment. There is no need to try to become the 1 stop shop for all TV entertainment - like the XBox One is trying to do
But - I love that Nintendo has kept the Wii U focused as a gaming machine - sure it does other things, but at its core it remains a box for gaming - I'm glad it's not a home theater media box.
Update for USA folks GameStop Online now has these up for preorder. No money required until it actually ships. In store reserves I believe are $50 upfront.
@b23cdq Fine Bluetooth lag and who the heck wants a cable out of your gaming system - HDMI cables are fairly thick this wouldn't be a thin power cord.
Most idiotic idea - the Wii U is what you get if you want that experience. It would be useless for playing games without buying an additional piece of tech $300 or more.
Super Mario 64 on my N64 - started last night and it finally clicked. Perhaps the Galaxy games trained me enough to get this game - so loving this now!
Metroid Prime Trilogy - on first game and enjoying Metroid Prime for the very first time in my life.
Mario and Luigi: Dream Team for 3DS (About 32 hours into it and feel the end is near)
Fire Emblem: Awakening - picked up due to $30 promo - playing 1 chapter a day
EarthBound - in the final 2/3 of game and getting back into after taking several weeks off.
That's some of what I'll be playing (Animal Crossing is an everyday thing still )
@Shiryu haha - I'd wager a human opponent would be less skilled - although would have less patterns. I get pretty angry at Street Fighter - so bloody difficult - for sure started as an arcade title
@aris77 I also love the 3D feature - it gives me a home console experience with that level of immersion. A 2D system would not interest me as much as a 3D one.
@grimbldoo - it depends on what chair, sofa or bed I'm sitting on or laying on. I hold it so its comfy. Sometimes I have it in laptop mode, but most of the time it is in the middle screen opening setting. Would have to take a pic to explain how I hold it.
@grimbldoo has nothing to do with tight grip, but about ergonomics, it simply isn't designed for my hand - maybe you have small hands in comparison ...
@baconcow many consider the 3DS uncomfortable to hold with its sharp edges, myself included in that.
Regarding 3D - it is for kids 7 and under ... children of that age are still developing their eyes and having 3D turned on is medically unsafe and warned against on the 3DS - this is a console designed for children and those with a budget.
Love this! Perfect for the kid market or those that don't want to spend $200 on the 3DS XL.
Looks more comfy than the standard 3DS. I may get one for the console collection and display it next to my Wii Mini ... but I do see this being successful and a popular holiday gift along with Pokemon X/Y.
A PERFECT 7 and under handheld console - if you are hating this thing without using it - know it is probably not for you as you are probably older than 7 ...
@TruenoGT Yea Wii U/3DS is a great combo with tons of games coming out each month.
For me I also have the entire Wii collection I've never played since I never owned one. Right now playing Metroid Prime Trilogy for the first time - never played it on the GameCube.
@TruenoGT I don't have the time or money to invest in more than one home console - I'm quite happy with the supply of games coming out to Wii U and 3DS. I wouldn't have any extra money to buy twice as many games getting another system.
@theadrock13 k - have a buddy that got Wii U Basic because others were sold out and wants to upgrade, but has no way to do that - i.e. no system transfer.
@SkywardCrowbar Yea I get paid every Friday so that is rather nice - plus you then have the whole weekend ahead of you - instead of Sunday where going back to work is not nearly as fun ...
SSD is what is used on iPads, MacBook Airs and other products designed not to have quick failures like hard drive based iPods or laptops.
SSD has much faster read time, much better reliability, is quieter and for now much more expensive than hard drives.
I understand you want more internal storage, but I'd rather have my Wii U last longer and be more durable than have the convenience of a ticking time bomb medium of storage known as hard drives. I'll get an external if I want lots of storage. Hard drives never last very long.
@Kirk The 32GB is not a hard drive it is solid state storage and I'm glad they went with the storage medium they did - I don't want to buy a hard drive based system that is on a ticking time bomb for its hard drive crash
@WebHead It's a design choice to use a more reliable SSD as the system storage - hard drives crash and I'd rather that be external and something easily swappable.
@WebHead using Solid State Storage isn't a penny pinching decision, but a design one - SSDs are more reliable than HDs. Nintendo hardware has always had reliability as a part of its design
I would rather have the faster load times of SSD and long term reliability that SSD provides. Hard drives fail way too often to be the internal storage device for a console that will last me a decade or so ...
@Falco Also you had a much longer generation this time around 10 year olds that grew up on this generation will be happy to play their systems for another year or two until there are good games for the next gen
@banacheck Launch month will be NUTS for all of these - even the Wii U had a crazy launch - but the transition isn't about presales and initial numbers - it is about that first year or two - it will be a slow one for sure!
Disclaimer: EU only - not a fan of Nintendo spreading out EU and NA launches (Also Friday is a much better launch day than Sunday - please NOA do that)
@KingBoo01 I'm rather big into YOL - have 2 coins, the pin, the Japan 3DS LL, the Sound Selections CD, and will have that poster and retail release of this game.
I'll be picking up two copies - one on Sunday and another a little bit later - really want to have one unopened for the collection and another that I can open up and include in my Year of Luigi frame that includes all the other YOL gear

How good is Mini's March Again? Worth picking up?
Re: Weirdness: This 1DS Spoof is Remarkably Well Done
idiotic - so games just wouldn't work if it wasn't connected to an external display? - WiFi lag would be terrible too
Re: Nintendo Direct: Pokémon Direct Scheduled For Wednesday September 4th
Limited Edition 2DS or 3DS XL incoming?

I hear this version has the purple Ganon - which I guess is rare in the physical world.
I still need a guide for this game, but love the original Zelda

Injustice Gods Among Us is so easy in comparison.

I must be terrible at fighting games because I bought all three and can't get past the first fight in story mode

Has there been any word on the Deluxe Digital Promotion. Is that going to be in WindWaker HD Bundle or offered at the new $299 deluxe bundle?

Very happy with all of the announcements today - why no Nintendo Direct though ...
