As you may have heard by now, there's a new patch out for Dragon Ball FighterZ. It's the first one the popular fighting game has received since the start of the year.
In the words of the game's community, there are some "absolutely massive" changes - including new mechanics and fighter adjustments. It seems to have also added in some other interesting and perhaps less expected things...
A video that's gone viral on social media, shows Goku's pal Krillin reviving himself with a Senzu Bean after being KO'd. While it would make sense in the anime or other kinds of Dragon Ball games, it's certainly raised some eyebrows in this context.
The patch notes mention how the Senzu Bean "will now restore health even when there is no restorable health available" (restorable health is allocated to a blue bar).
Prior to this update, the Senzu Bean could only restore part of Krillin's blue health bar or the opposition's bar, if they made contact with the bean. Now, though, players are questioning what's going on - with many still of the belief Krillin's ability to bring himself back to life will eventually be patched out.
As Dot Esports notes, it's unlikely players will be able to "consistently" perform this move and get knocked into the bean right before a KO - so it shouldn't be too much of a concern.
Have you tried out this move in the new DBFZ update yet? Spotted anything else? Tell us down below.

If only he could have revived himself in the series.
He's died 3 times before, 4 if you count GT. I'm sure he knows everything about the mortal realm by now, surprised he can't manipulate it in the anime at this point
.....Ah, so I can pull this now and have it relevant to the conversation....

@PBandSmelly Add another death for Krillin if you include Future Trunks's timeline.
Ironically, Yamcha never lost his Dragon Ball Insurance (my term for those who can still be wished back to life with Earth's Dragon Balls), as both times he died he was brought back by Namek's Dragon Balls instead.
Nah this is the true krillin, the won that been bullied, The one that dies all the time, under all that, is a GOD.
With what limited knowledge i have of the series, i think a self-revive is the skill Krillin needed most...
@PBandSmelly
To be fair though, several characters died multiple times in the show, which is why I never fully get that joke about Krillin. I mean sure, but really? Should be more so a joke about the whole show.
Even Goku died twice.
Edit: Goku technically died three times even, If you include the other timeline.
Managed to pick up the third season pass for this at 50% off last night with only 8 minutes left to go on the sale! That was close as I'd been waiting for that for a while!
@Kirgo Depending on your point of view, Goku died three times on the normal timeline, not including the Future Trunks era.
1- Against Raditz
2- Against Frieza on Namek (This one is up for question if he really died or not before Bulma's wish to revive all the fallen "good guys" back to life on the planet).
3- Against Cell
Eh, seems about right. Death is a joke in DB given now they have like 3 or 4 magical dragons that basically grant any wish.
I would have to say Team Four Star said it best in their DBZ Abridged series. When they summoned Shenron, he mocks their wish on the revivals implying it could have been better spent.
@SilentS Goku didn't die against Frieza.
It was shown later that he had escaped with one of the saiyan ships (I think Vegetas).
Apart from that they tried to revive him with the Namekian Dragonballs, but that was refused, because he wasn't dead.
That Senzu bean item would make for a good support item in a DBZ RPG or beat em up game. At least Dragon Ball Z: Hyper Dimension had a good use for them.
"Krillin Nooooooo!!!"
"...Oh wait, he's okay."
It's not that is very helpful, but if this is a glitch, is a very interesting one.
This is the perfect spot to plug my fan manga Bloodlines π please check it out and let me know what you think !

"Hey, Krillin! Senzu Bean?"
"SENZU BEAN!" toss
If this is a glitch there is no reason to patch it out. It's kinda rad.
When you die and get revived so often, you learn some tricks.
@Kirgo Wrong part of the fight. It was in the middle of the fight when Bulma wished "Revive all the people that Frieza and his minions had killed". The one that brought back everybody on the planet that also revived their balls as well.
@SilentS But Goku was in the middle of fighting Frieza when Mr. Popo made that wish?
@SilentS
I am pretty sure that Goku didn't die there either.
Goku was the last to arrive at the battle because he was severly injured after what happened against Ginyu and was placed in a healing tank. When Goku arrived, Frieza was already in his last form after fighting for a while, Goku managed to hit him with a Spirit Bomb. Frieza survived and immediately killed Krillin which made Goku go ssj.
While ssj Goku and Frieza were fighting, everyone in Namek was, what you mentioned, revived and moved to Earth.
Goku specifically wasn't moved because he was beating up Frieza at the time.
He didn't die at any point.
At least that is how I remember it.
@SilentS that....doesn't make sense?
Meh, does not matter if it makes sense or not, just rewatch the part of the fight where the Dragon is summoned. The wish is granted when it is implied he died from Gohan's words. After they all come back to life, he shows up again.
I am not saying I believe it, I said "Depending on your point of view" of the part in question.
@SilentS
When everyone on Namek were revived, Gohan was still on Namek himself.
Still pretty sure there is no way of interpreting it as Goku being dead at any point. The only time when that was in question was when Namek exploded at the end and there it was explained that he survived.
