Personally, a 30 chapter manual would be PERFECT for doing stuff like this. I would have liked for the original DSi Puchicom to have some sort of decent manual (I found errors like crazy through the online manual that you can get for free).
@KeithTheGeek I'd also like them to be sub-licenced to others so that the technology brings back third-parties. I'd love to see Sega branch out on this quite a bit (Hey, even with Sonic already as an Amiibo, the possibility is there for other IP figurines to come around.) Heck, there's unlimited possibilities with this coming up in the near future.
Seeing as they'd sell for around R200 I'm quite interested, mind you, it's quite a good investment for an avid gamer who would be using it cross-platform.
@GloverMist There's a bug in the Spotpass system for Tetris 3DS (Tetris Axis in the US) where if you play enough times online, the game will give the following errors (in order, I documented them on my Twitter if you're interested.)
1) "SpotPass is OFF because the SpotPass received data usage limit has been reached"
2) "You cannot use Spotpass"
3) (dialogue asking if you want spotpass to be turned on)
4) Creates data if yes, and says "Extra data saved." If no is selected, it says "You cannot use spotpass." again
Let's hope we can get a proper Tetris this time. Tetris (3DS) and Tetris Axis has a nasty Spotpass bug in it, which bugged the daylights out of me twice already. Let's hope Ubi can do something right that Hudson didn't.
Edit: From the screenshots, it looks as if UbiSoft are not confining to color standards of SRS. The J piece (Whch is often a vibrant blue) is looking a bit to the dark purple side.
Oh, and for the love of all that is good, PLEASE let us be able to turn items off. I don't approve of items at all. Also allow 4-player multiplayer with items off.
I think Moore is missing part of the bigger call than just going mobile. EA have been swabbing at the bloated phone industry for quite some time, and it isn't beneficial to throw out Free To Play which forces the user into a wall. Their design philosophy for F2P has really gotten me to disregard the Mobile platform (Except for the valued Mahjong games which are as a last resort due to not finding a proper version on the 3DS)
Remember, Business is about RISK, and if you're not going to take risks, then you're missing a large amount of potential in your fanbase. I'm talking to both of you, SEGA and EA.
@Jellal I think it should be perfectly be able to handle the worlds, considering how the chunk system works. The game loads files in 128x128 (which can be adjusted accordingly to 64x64 if needed) chunks, which could then be used to parse in distances and several other calculations. DSCraft, the homebrew DS Minecraft clone was strictly creative mode only, but it had its potential to show that it could work. it was a little glitchy because it was a big job. I had lots of fun playing around with it while I was in the homebrew gaming scene. The Fact that the 3DS can handle large chunks is just as well a good excuse (Talking Colors 3D as well, since it works on a large chunk system to memorize drawing processes).
@6ch6ris6 I believe it would work similarly to what Monster Hunter would operate then, with the option of adding the Circle Pad Pro. Touch control may be a little sticky, but you could use the format of pressing a button for that to happen. There's loads of control possibilities and options that can be made to retrofit the console.
I wouldn't say it's impossible for a Minecraft 3DS. it's always possible if you put your mind and energy on it. I'd say it's improbable due to the amount of programming that is needed behind the system (3DS/Wii U doesn't support Java, you know.) With other optional extras being Gyroscope control and Spotpass/Streetpass support along with item utilization it's got a lot of factors to take into consideration. 3D is always something to consider, although I think it would lower FPS if that's the case and cause a little bit of a motion blur in the concept itself.
Wii U Factors: A lot of people have supported this, although I think it would be a little more interesting to see this in action rather than speak of the features. Who knows, maybe it would be a little bit of a good idea.
Personally, I think there is a possibility for it, just Nintendo need to talk to Mojang about it.
(Misc: Terraria sounds like a good idea on the 3DS and the Wii U, but I'm not sure what the secondary screen function would be, perhaps someone could give me a little perspective on this, since I haven't really played Terraria?)
That's all I'm saying. Don't expect any replies for me on this topic.
Apologies for the double-post, but yes, I want to see Puyo Puyo Tetris as well, but you know Sega and the West. >:
Seeing Tetris Ultimate be on my 3DS alongside Hudson's Tetris for 3DS (Which has already clocked 148 hours) I'm sure the two variations are going to compete against each other.
@kupocake Do want Puyo Puyo Tetris. The demand is really high for the game and I hope Sega and TTC would get the game over to the West. I wouldn't mind a European release as well, since I use a European 3DS. ^^,
We're possibly going to be using the Social SNS share for the competitions with either a hashtag. I'd bet on that, since Miiverse would prohibit images from the app.
Very interesting, I wonder how the restrictions are in Europe and what the differences are from what Japan and the US had.
@HugoSmits That makes sense. There'd be a specific folder to place it and then we can put it to/from the system. Thanks for clearing that up. makes things a little more simpler to work with then.
I have quoted on the site's blog (Which is a blogger blog) that it's a very good start.
There is one thing that will bother me a bit (but not too much) and that is the use of QR Codes. From what I said on the Gomba blog post, I'd prefer a server-based system to a QR code system because of Version Control and backups, along the convenience of using the internet to give way to transferring the games from one place to another no matter what size.
I'd be happy either way to check this dev tool out, and I'll be keeping an eye out for the Flash beta he wants to release.
@Starwolf_UK This is, as per the changes as per the terms of service, supposed to be cleaned up. @CrazyOtto I think there's more to the WiFi options than just the online bit. Remember, Local play will still be accessible and working. Also, the DS profile settings doesn't give the Internet connection directly, it's implanted into the DS program. the DSi Enabled games go through the 3DS connection settings, though.
Still a 7 second boot time. Nothing else looks like it's been updated. Good parental control system with the E-mail system. it scraps the vulnerability that the underground community created to bypass the parental controls. I'm inclined to say myself that it won't be used on my 3DS as I manage the system on my own. Could this possibly a step forward or a step back? That is the true question.
@ZenTurtle I'd agree with you for your cases. Possibly something like what Colors! Live is even? Where you can view and even download your works online? Miiverse is limited to 250 characters too, so it wouldn't work so well.
Also, I read your rant towards the original Petit Computer. I agree that the language is old, however namespaces didn't exist until we had a way how to interpret using an IDE. this is why there was the use for Jump functions in the program. To the defense of BASIC, Games were created using BASIC back in the day, yes, and is rather an educational measure than a practical one.
I, personally, would like Smileboom to create a PC-Based IDE that needs a code from the 3DS application to be downloaded and code from the PC. send the code onto a personal area on an online storage so that you could test how it works on the hardware or test it on an emulated environment on the PC. PTCUtils allowed for most of the coding on the PC, to be transferred via QR Code, although it didn't allow for testing via the PC function.
@Liquid_ice JDE is a popular choice, however it has a lot of vulnerabilities and risks to be taken into factor. you're talking about at least a GB worth of data there. @polarbear As far as I've read, 3D will not be used. you'd possibly be able to use the cameras for certain functions though. Would be nice if SmieBoom added a Miiverse community where we could get help or share our programs, since there's the functionality for that.
@Windy on Petit Computer's Website it had a free to use user manual that (while riddled with spelling errors and a lot of confusing parts) did work give a bit of a concept. there's a Petit Computer Wiki that also provides a lot of programs that are useful to have a look at, like the one project that had a top-down racer
I, myself was struggling with sprite movement. can't seem to get my sprites binding together (as I was creating a Puyo Puyo clone) I'm also hoping for wireless multiplayer to be a thing for this, so that I can send and receive buttonpresses for player 2. would make my game a lot more fun.
I can't wait until I can port my unfinished project to this Petit Computer 3DS. Would love to see my work done in beautiful 16-Bit.
Also, I hope Smileboom makes a way that we can use a computer interface that we can work with. I had quite a bit of trouble working on my 3DS as it was, and there was a third-party app that allowed import/export on the PC called PetitTools.
I, as a developer, approve of this new update, and want Petit Computer 3DS to be a success around the world.

More Stability, indeed!!!

What in the name of all is good are they trying to achieve?
This means that fans can simply boycot them out of business. This is a stupid sense of thinking.

@Luna-Harmony Wifi from and to PC data transfer should be possible, since I read something along the lines of that. It's a good possibility, really.

@iphys Visor got me a few times, I'll admit it.
Re: Ubisoft Confirms Exclusive 3DS Mode for Tetris Ultimate, Along With Online Features
@bofis Tetris Party Deluxe's VS mode is pretty stable, and I think Hudson just rehashed Tetris Party Deluxe for Tetris Axis, to be honest.
