Re: "This Is Even Worse" - GTA 6 Code-In-A-Box Reveal Reignites Game-Key Card Debate

This is all so disheartening. The publisher's want to charge us 70-80 for a game but then we have to buy data card for $100-200 to put the game on. So the game is now $180.00. It then takes literally hours to download so the game I want to play tonight is now tomorrow. Some of us also pay extra for data usage. Then a new game comes out so I either have to delete my game to make room or buy another cartridge for $100-200.00.

And if I want to play the first game again I have hours of downloading (think sports games, folks). I don't play every game to completion. But I spend money on games. The net result for theses publishers is not higher profits. It will mean lost sales. I have cut way back in my purchases since the key-card thing started. For me it's not about collectables. It's just to expensive and to hard to play games anymore.

For the good old days when you pop the cartridge in and just play.

@exerion76
Thanks for your reply. I fully understand that we're not required to buy the card to play the game. And if someone wants it as a collector, more power to them. My point was really complaining yet again about key cards. On the switch 2, except for Nintendo games (and a couple of others) we are being forced to digitally download EVERYTHING. I've bought a 1TB card for $200.00. But game publishers have mostly increased their prices to $70-80 for a game and then we have to buy the media to put it on which effectively makes it over $100 to play a game. And the console is $500. I'm not made of money. I'm upset because I can no longer afford to buy the games I would like to play. Anyway though I understand your point and hope I didn't ruin your day. Cheers!

Re: Third-Party Launch Games On Switch 2 Reportedly Sold "Very Low Numbers"

I find the article to be naive. There is one reason why third party games are not selling. GAME-KEY CARDS. We hate them. I will not buy games with key-cards. I don't have enough digital memory and the idea that after spending $50-$70 dollars I then need to buy a $200 microSD express card! NO!! Let's see Cyberpunk which has the game on the cart is selling well. Everything else with key-cards are not. Publishers, get a clue! If you put the game on the cart we will buy it. Period!
