Re: Video: Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games Slips Into View

@AyeHaley basically it's a closed circle problem - nintendo games and systems are not very popular because they are quite expensive, there's no advertisement, and you can't even find them at the retail stores. And the retailers don't want to sell them, because they are not popular. Nintendo of Russia is trying to improve the situation but it goes really slow. It's still cheaper and more convenient to import, especially for the regions that are far away from the capital (you know, huge territory).
And also yes, lots of gamers often complain that Nintendo games look like kids' stuff, and "they can only make Mario and I already got tired of him when I had a NES".

Yes, I've bought a Wii U to be able to play Nintendo first and second party games, and yes, I don't want to play multiplatform titles on it, cause I'd rather have the info about my progress tied to PSN. But that doesn't mean that Nintendo is doomed, cause that's pretty much the same situation that was with the Wii before. I don't see any problems with players having two consoles - the Wii U and the PS4 (seriously, who wants an XBOX One?).

@Einherjar another great thing about games being published in eShop is that you can get them at the launch day. That is even more important for the countries where nintendo retail distribution is in a pitiful state (like it is here in Russia).
Also just wanted to add that when I contacted nintendo support after I've lost my 3DS they asked me about the serial number of the console (which I've found on a package that left) and told me that they've blocked the internet access for that console. So yes, that's possible.
