Re: Masahiro Sakurai Explains Why Mewtwo Isn't Paid DLC in Smash Bros.

My husband and I both have Smash for 3DS on each of our own handhelds, but as the primary Nintendo user in my household I'll be purchasing Smash for Wii U via my Nintendo Network ID. As it stands right now my husband's really disappointed as this means that I'll have access to Mewtwo on my 3DS and the Wii U, whereas he'll only be able to access Mewtwo on the Wii U. Not releasing the character as paid DLC clearly has some disadvantages to certain players, so I hope that Nintendo devises a workaround for these types of situations.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Update, Mercedes Karts and DLC Pre-Orders Now Live

Hmm...I downloaded the Mercedes DLC, and although the system tells me that it's been installed the additional content is nowhere to be seen once I boot up the game. For some reason it's just not downloading the update.

Curiouser and curiouser...

UPDATE: Ignore me. I restarted my system, and now the update is downloading. 100% can't come soon enough!

Re: Bravely Default Flutters Gracefully Past The One Million Copies Sold Mark

I played the demo back when it was originally released, and I walked away from that feeling completely dissatisfied. I couldn't wrap my head around the Brave/Default battle mechanic, and I didn't understand how the StreetPass/re-building Norende functionality worked. Overall I just felt like the demo didn't do a great job of explaining the various features of the game.

Fast forward to about a month ago, and for some inexplicable reason I decided to purchase the full game (which I realize doesn't make any sense considering my feelings towards the demo). I'm SO glad that I did, because this game has grabbed my attention like no other RPG has in quite a while. The previous stand-out in my mind was DQ:IX for the DS, and for the first time since then I feel like I'm playing a game that offers the same type of incredibly fun, fully customizable, and high-quality experience as that did. I'm so glad that I ended up picking up this game DESPITE my experience with the demo.

I heard about this last night, but when I searched the eShop it was nowhere to be found. I saw somebody post about having the same issue in an online forum, and (perhaps uncoincidentally) it turned out that we're both from Canada. I'll check the eShop again later today, as it sounds like a neat little app.

Re: Video: New Pokémon X & Y U.S. Trailer Makes its Debut

Obviously I'm getting this game either way, but does anybody else find it frustrating that there are no trailers or screenshots in the 3DS eShop that show off the stereoscopic 3D effect? I always play every game with the 3D cranked up to max, and it's such a pet peeve of mine when a game doesn't show off that effect in the eShop. The 3DS is pretty much the only way you can preview a game's stereoscopic visuals, so why not take advantage of that when pre-loading info in to the eShop?

Re: Feature: Taking Off to the Miiverse

I absolutely agree with what everybody else has said. While I've always been reluctant to participate in any gaming forums online (mainly because of trolls and/or flame wars), I've been surprised by my own willingness and ability to very easily integrate myself into the Miiverse community. Well done, Nintendo!
