Re: Nintendo Will Reveal NX Price, Launch Lineup And Specs This Year, Claims Nikkei

@Moeblob exactly. that's why i said it will most likely be the latter. A Nintendo direct is not the place to unveil new hardware. especially not one that is as important for Nintendo as the NX. They will most likely hold a massive press event like Sony does with it's Playstation Experience. A huge event inviting all gaming press. unveiling the console, it's specs and pricing, release date and the software in development for it. and giving the press hands on time with the games and hardware.

@Mr_Zurkon yep and Nintendo knows a lot is riding on the NX to regain their footing in the console gaming market. I don't think Nintendo is willing to take any chances with the NX. This is also why the NX was pushed to March 2017 where the NX will be the only new piece of hardware on the market and the hype for the Playstaion Neo and PS VR will be settling. The delay of the new Zelda is just a casualty of this strategic move by Nintendo. Nintendo knows that game is more important to the NX than it is to the WiiU right now. I'm pretty sure that game was still on track for a holiday 2016 release.

@YoshiTails Nintendo is trying to avoid fighting for media and consumer attention with all the other hardware that will be showcased at E3 this year. Stuff like Playstaion Neo, Playstation VR, the two PC VR headsets and possibly the rumored new/improved XBOX One. Would explain why they think a separate event to unveil the NX where all eyes would be on them and only them would be more beneficial for the NX's success. also i'm almost certain that the NX unvealing won't be from a Nintendo direct. i strongly think Nintendo will have a big press event like what sony does with Playstation Experience.

Re: Dragon Quest XI Is Coming To The Nintendo 3DS And Nintendo NX

@rjejr Exactly!!! this is exactly what i thought when i saw the update on the announcement as "considering". They definitely got a nasty call from Nintendo after they made the confirmation for three reasons - 1) this announcement confirms the NX is coming in 2016 which is what i've been saying all along. 2) this WiiU is already basically dead and 3) the first game to get confirmed on Nintendo's next home console is not a Nintendo first party title but a third party Multi-plat game from Square-Enix. Nintendo must have been livid when they saw this

@JaxonH
First off, I bought Wonderful 101 and yes it is a really good game that Nintendo fans and gamers need to support. Secondly, that is why i said that Nintendo should allocate most of it's development team to the big games that fans want and will buy and small portion of the team to it's more casual games like Wario Ware and Mario Party and Wii Fit U and all that ho-hom that still sells.The rest of the development team (a small part) should be towards new IPs. When it comes to new IPs, don't tell me that they shouldn't invest in this. New IPs are what pushes the industry forward. I'm sure you don't want to spend the rest of your life playing the same franchises and never experiencing something new. Developers need to take risks. Sometimes they'll miss the mark and sometimes they will hit it dead on. Look at the Pikmin series, that has become a success for Nintendo. If tey didn't take that risk we wouldn't have Pikmin today. A good example of a developer/publisher that used it's development team very well id UBISOFT. They have have great franchises that sell very well but they're alwasy pushing new IPs. Just recently they announced a bunch of new IPs that will be developed using the UbiArt framework (the same engine that was used for the hugely successful Raymond reboot) and the all look like very unique games. Also i know that we as games on the outside don't know of a lot of the things that are going on on the inside of industry and Nintendo and they have share-holders to please but i think it's pretty clear that Nintendo has been making a lot of bad decisions lately. Don't get me wrong, i love Nintendo and will always support them but they really need to start taking the changes and advancement of the gaming industry seriously. I'm not saying that they should become like Sony and Microsoft and start pumping out FPS like there is no tomorrow. Nintendo can retain it's unique identity and still a advance with the rest of the industry. It kills me that in 2013 Nintendo still doesn't have and online network that can match or come close to what Sony and Microsoft had over 7 years ago.

@triforcepower73 what are you saying? they could have definitely gotten 2 Zelda games out. They were recently working on 3 Zelda games at the same time. Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Zelda: A Link Between Two Worlds and the Zelda game currently in production for the WiiU. Zelda: Wind Waker HD is being released now, Zelda: A Link Between Two Worlds is being released in like 3 months and i'm pretty sure we'll be getting the WiiU Zelda at the end of 2014 or early 2015. So now tell me why couldn't Nintendo handle Skyword Sword which was released in 2011 and the WiiU Zelda which could have been released for 2013. And don't mention the 3DS remake of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time, that was handled by a different developer. Nintendo really needs to start listening to it's fans and put priority on the games they want. Nintendo needs to put most of it's development power behind those games and use the rest of it's deveopment team for games games like Wario Ware and producing new IPs.

This makes me very happy and very furious at the same time. I absolutely love Nintendo and their games. I'm very happy that when the next Metroid game is developed, RETRO will be the ones doing it. What makes me very furious is that this game was not in production early enough to be a launch-window game. Nintendo has some of the world's most powerful franchises and for them to know years in advance that they have a new console in the works and not make games like Zelda, Metroid, Mario Galaxy, Star Fox, Smash Bros and Mario Kart among other, in development early enough for them to be launch-window games makes me angry. If these games were available on the WiiU within the first 6 months, the state of the console would have been so different right now. I'm gonna ride out this console generation with the WiiU and the upcoming PS4, but i must say the I will not be able to forgive Nintendo for entering another console generation in this manner after seeing what happened with the 3DS and WiiU and not placing priority on the games their fans want the most. Wario Ware and Nintendo Land (even though they are good games) are not the games that fans are clamoring for. Can you imagine how well the WiiU would have done if it came out the a new Zelda game like the Wii did? Please Nintendo, pull yourself together.

Re: Say Hello To The Nintendo 2DS - A 3DS without 3D

@Yasume seriously, why is everyone getting so worked up over this. I think this was a brilliant move by Nintendo. This device is aimed at a completely different demographic. This is for young kids and parents that are skeptical of buying an expensive gaming console for their kids that is said to be potentially harmful to younger kids when played in 3D. This new device removes all road blocks in those regards. I you you are happy with the standard 3DS and 3DS XL, then fine those are still there. The only thing im worried about if Nintendo can get the message accross that this this is basically the same device for a lot cheaper and minus the stereoscopic 3D. It will be sad if parents and young kids get confused and think its a completely different device and wont play 3DS games
