Re: Talking Point: The Download or Disc Dilemma

blueeaglewombat

On 3DS, I prefer to download to SD Card, for convenience. On Wii U, I prefer to buy retail games, but I still use the hell out of eShop. Most of my games are from eShop. I can see a time in near future though where I would download a retail game if it was a small download, like 2-4gb. There is no way in hell I'm downloading a 20gb game though.

I am surprised that so many people come on here to bash Nintendo about their system and the way they handle things. If you're really unhappy, sell the damn thing. That is the only way for you to send them a message that you don't like their product. Coming on some internet forum to bitch about it isn't going to get change, you need to hit them where it hurts, bank accounts.

That said, there are things I don't like about how they do things, but the one thing I do know is Nintendo Customer Service will do everything & anything to address your situation should you have an issue.

I wouldn't trust Microsoft or Sony with my toaster, let alone my game machine

Re: Vblank Entertainment: Retro City Rampage on WiiWare is a "$20,000 Gift to the Fans"

Developers: Take notice, this is how it's done! VBlank totally nailed it. I am not a fan of these open world GTA style games, but this is cool. I love the Arcade Missions he has in the game.

Plus, the different graphics filters are a cool addition, totally wasnt expecting that level of detail.

Even if you're not a fan of WiiWare, GET THIS GAME!! HELP VBLANK HIT THE SALES THRESHOLD SO HE CAN GET PAID!

I know he said this was basically a gift to Nintendo users, lets give him a gift of high sales so he gets paid.

Nintendo should do the right thing here and pay out sooner or contribute to this outstanding developer.

Is it me, or does the Chase McCain name sound like it's straight outta the movie Boogie Nights? Remember the cop-porn that Dirk and Reed worked on within the Boogie Nights movie? Their cop names were Brock Landers (Diggler) and Chest Rockwell (Rothchild).

Chase McCain FTW!

Just played the WiiWare demo, it was a fun game. It had a nice arcade style to it. I cant wait for the 3DS version now, as the 3D effect has some potential here.

In the meantime, I am downloading the full version from WiiWare. Its worth the 1000 points.

Re: Wii U Deluxe Set Selling Like Hot Cakes

blueeaglewombat

I got my pre-order in on the weekend after the release date was announced. I went with the Basic Set because I have no interest in Nintendo Land and I only wanted white. The memory situation is a non-issue for me, as I have intended since the Wii U was announced to add an external hard drive.

I seriously doubt the Basic Set gets a price drop early on. I can see them giving buyers a copy of Nintendo Land in some kind of basic set bundle, but not a price drop.

Re: Wii U Basic Can Only Store 3GB Of Downloaded Software

blueeaglewombat

@OurWullie yeah, thanks for the FYI. After I saw your comments I went and read the translation of the Japanese Nintendo Direct from yesterday. It does say 2tb like you said. Which is fine, 2tb will be enough, and I can see Nintendo raising that threshold via Wii U system update in the future, much like they did for Wii

Re: Wii U Basic Can Only Store 3GB Of Downloaded Software

blueeaglewombat

I bought the Basic set because I wanted white and I wanted it day 1. I only use the internal storage on Wii for game save data, and thats what I intended to do with Wii U. My intention all along was too attach usb drive. That hasnt changed, so the amount of storage is fine.

And what I say to those criticizing or laughing at the people who bought a Basic set, who cares what you think. Yes Nintendo should have included a hard drive or more internal storage, but they didnt. what they did do is give EVERYONE who bought a Wii U, basic and deluxe, options to increase the available storage. So you may laugh because I bought the Basic set, but when I attach a 3TB hard drive, it wont make a difference. I will then have more than enough storage space.

Bottom line is the Basic system was the system I wanted. And I'll have it on Nov 18th. Happy Gaming everyone!

Re: Wii U Software Storage on USB Devices Detailed

blueeaglewombat

@Nintendokim If this turns out too be the case, thats fine with me as well. In fact, that was my plan all along.my 32gb sd card on my Wii was going to store all my WiiWare and VC titles when I move to Wii U. The external hd is for retail and eShop diwnloads.
Make it so, Nintendo.

Re: Wii U Software Storage on USB Devices Detailed

blueeaglewombat

@DrKarl thats my problem as well. i really think the translation is wrong here since the original webpage was in japanese. it makes no sense to release a console that wont be able to play a good number of retail downloads (like Tekken), but can have USB storage added on.

I want a Nintendo Direct for North America to clear this stuff up before launch, then I will feel better.

Re: Reaction: The Big Wii U Rumour Round-Up

blueeaglewombat

@BenAV I agree. Although I think the "Acid Ghost" leak might be part of a bigger marketing campaign to showcase mature titles on WiiU. The inclusion of Eminem in the rumor does seem a little odd. BUT, if there really are some mature Horror style games coming to WiiU, I can see Eminem and his song "3 A.M." being used in the marketing campaign and commercials. For anyone that hasn't seen the "3 A.M." music video, it's pretty intense and extremely graphic. I mean it premiered uncut on Cinemax late at night. It's actually a pretty good short film.
