So E3 direct and instead of live conference we get SMASH BROS TOURNAMENT. I'm hyped
Also please let Zelda U look like WW HD. This art style is so cool and doesn't age at all. Hell gamecube version still looks good to this day. Imagine full fledged zelda ( way bigger islands, way smaller sea ). HYPE HYPE HYPE
Casual Wii crowd knows Mario Kart. Gamers know and love the series. If this doesn't boost sales significantly then nothing will. But tbh I don't care. It's Nintendo buisness to worry about that stuff not mine. My Wii U purchase was justified long ago. And 2014-15 lineup looks very good. Wonder what will be announced at E3
@Assassinated I hope you're right. But judging from the size of BigRedButton ( 80 people ? ) I don't think they can pull it off. Winter 2015 may be a little stretch but delay to 1Q of 2015 is very possible in my opinion. I hope it won't be rushed just to meet the deadline of tv series...
May: Mario Kart 8 Jul/Aug: Bayonetta 2 / Smash ( leaning more towards Bayo ) Oct/Nov: Hyrule Warriors December : Smash or Bayonetta 2 ( Smash more like it )
Zelda and X ... 2015 Glimpse of "secret project" at E3
Getting into health industry could damage game development.. Depends on the profits. Nintendo used to be card company. Let's hope they don't shift into medical/health stuff and forget about us gamer's.
Most disturbing thing is that technical progress that we see is slowly killing game industry as a whole. Consoles aside but when developers have to invest so much money in the game that it becomes all in or out for the studio that's not healthy environment. So Nintendo approach gameplay over graphics is the good one in my opinion. Indie developers have same philosophy. You cannot make progress if you scared to take a risk. Vicious circle...
Another one Nintendo needs to do is look at the map and check what countries are missing from nintendoclub. Maybe even sell games in those countries ! Just a thought
Galaxy 1 & 2 are great games but why not to try some new approach in the 3d mario games ? How about open world Mario in the same vein as Jack & Daxter was. There are so many characters from mario series ( paper mario especially) that can give "quests" when we meet them.
@CyberNature Well said. Its funny how market changed. Though that dev should compete with each other with best product/experience to gain customers. In this day and age those companys punish customers for low sales of another product. "You better buy X game because you don't get the sequel on your console". "You better do something about piracy on PC becuse we will gonna stop relasing games for that platform". "We will include intrusive DRM for our customers because the people around them are bad". It reminds me of socialism actually. The goverment knows best whats best for us and will make decisions because we are to small and stupid to do that ourselfs. The game industry really has to crash and have a fresh start.
Nintendo had true 3rd party support when NES/SNES was around. N64 had no support. Gamecube had little support. Wii also had some but most of that was trash so what do we really expect ? That all devs going to suddenly hop on board because new console is around ? Nintendo = exclusives + some 3rd party as icing on the cake...
Don't know if its a buy for me. WW is one of my favorite zelda titles but it was clearly rushed title. Unfinished dungeons etc. So if its same old upscaled to HD no buy. If nintendo add content that was missing = must have.
Games sell consoles not the hardware. PS3 had a rough start. Wii U same thing. Developing games in HD takes time... Pikmin 3 will not sell the console its a niche game. Zelda or Mario Galaxy on the other hand. Metroid. Even Star Fox if done right. Make a good Smash Bros title and Wii U will be flying of the shelves. For me the main strength of a console is local multiplayer with friends. I am a Pc gamer at heart and most of the 3rd party games are for all platforms. So i can play Mass Effects, CoD, Battlefields on my pc. What pc is lacking is local multiplayer and nintendo consoles are very good in that department + some exclusives i'm in love with. Zelda, Mario, Metroid franchises. So for me Pc is main gaming platform and console is the icing on the cake.
Well it depends on what You want. Brand new game 10$ cheaper or external HDD to future proof the console. 24GB + stands + collection of mini games are not worth 50$ in my opinion.
Don't understand why many of you want to discontinue basic model. It's good value. I bought Wii U basic for ~250$ + external HDD (500GB) for ~60$ and used Nintendoland for ~20$. So 500GB Wii U with a game for 330$. The only thing that bothers me is lack of black basic model...

Art style reminds me of that ninja shuriken game from Nintendoland. Second screenshot.

@mostro328
It's way to early for Sonic Boom to come out. It will be winter 2015 at best.
I would't get your hopes up to X either.

Re: Preview: Mario Kart 8
Don't know if i understand that correctly. 2 player local multi will be split screen only ? No 1 player gamepad 1 player TV ?

At this point nothing will save Wii U . Lets be realistic here. Good thing is Nintendo tries to change. I wish them good luck.

Also I'm verry happy that it went multi platform. More people could enjoy that great game
