This game is actually pretty good. The Hidden Object parts are very well done and it's just very relaxing to play. Much, much better than the horrible 3DS incarnations of Mystery Case Files.
The only Pokemon game I played (as a kid) was Pokemon Blue on the original Game Boy. I even watched the cartoon back then. After that, I lost my interest in Pokemon. Nowadays I think there are way too many Pokemon games. They never seem to stop the remake and rehash the games and I'm tired of it. I'd like some truly original new titles for my Nintendo 3DS. Not another bunch of similar Pokemon games.
I was really forward to this game, but now that I tried the demo, I'm not impressed. I don't think the graphics are that impressive and the gameplay felt a little shallow to me. Also, I do not own a New 3DS, but I played it on an original Nintendo 3DS XL and I didn't really like the controls - stylus in the right hand for sliding and changing camera and controlpad in left hand for steering, it just felt awkward. All in all, I'm disappointed.
Meh, I'm a huge Sonic fan, but I didn't like Lost World 3DS and I didn't like this demo either. I feels too slow for a Sonic game, and I just didn't found it very engaging... back to playing Shovel Knight!
I love my 3DS but I'm getting annoyed by all those delayed releases for Europe. Besides Shovel Knight, I'm also still waiting for Flipnote Studio 3D and Brain Training: Concentration Training - will those titles ever be released in Europe at all?
I think the E3 was exciting for Wii U owners, with a lot of new good new titles. However, I only own a 3DS and not a Wii U and I feel Nintendo's E3 was disappointing for 3DS owners. Besides Super Smash Bros, STEAM and Gunman Clive 2 the future line-up for the 3DS looks weak.
I loved Double Dragon, so I tried this game, but I really don't like it. I mean, the production values are very good, but I found it too confusing. Most of the time I had no idea where to go or what items to get.
I think 7/10 is a good score for this game. The production values are excellent - it looks and sounds great and the controls are excellent. However, somehow it also felt a little tired - in the same way NSMB2 did. I also felt the mini-games didn't add much value. A good game, but it made me once more feel Nintendo should try something new.
I really liked this game. I thought it looked great and in combination with the music I found it very charming and even a little nostalgic. But yes, the original is better. And yes, the main adventure is too easy. But I found it more enjoyable than Yoshi's Island DS.
I think it's nice it's a physical release. It's a really great game with lots of content. Unfortunately, I already got the 3DS eShop version of Cut the Rope, so I will skip this one, since it's more of the same.
@Henmii This game is available since the 17th of April 2014 as download in the 3DS eShop (only in EU/UK regio) for a quite high price tag of €19.99 / £17.99. The release in the US will follow on the 17th of June 2014. It's not yet clear when it will be available as retail title.
@Lobster: given that price, I'd certainly rate it 7/10. This is a very enjoyable and playable adventure/hidden object game. It hasn't got the interface problems of the 3DS versions of the Mystery Case files games.
@dsparil: "I think that calling this "free-to-play" sends people the wrong message. I get the sense that a large number of people see free-to-play and assume that the game is based on a "buy 30 missiles for $0.99, 300 for $8.99" system instead of basically downloading the demo and then unlocking the rest of the game."
Finally, someone who feels exactly the same! I totally agree! For me, 'free-to-play' is a (mobile) game with unlockables you have to pay for. Not a demo, like this is, that you can 'unlock' to play the complete version.
I'm finally playing this game - the European version, after waiting for a year! I haven't played the American version or the Wii U version, but the Nintendo characters (Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Peach, Toad) are definitely in the European 3DS version of this game. I'm enjoying the game, but it's quite easy. Only other criticism is that the translation out of English to my language (Dutch) is sometimes a little weird, which causes a few unclear puzzles.
I'm not too excited about the games mentioned in this article - I do not see a lot of originality. I'm only hoping that Touch Detective 3 will also be released outside of Japan.
Could you one day also review some more 3DS games from Big Fish Games? I'm interested in some of their other adventures (Return to Ravenhearst, Azara, Secret Mysteries in London) and I'm wondering how well they hold up against the PC versions and if they are worth buying.

Re: Review: Gunman Clive 2 (3DS eShop)
I loved this title game, and I think everyone who like 2D platformers will. If you couldn't get enough of Gunman Clive 1 and Shovel Knight, get this!

Re: Review: Tetris Ultimate (3DS)
This review is okay, but would have been a lot more useful if it mentioned the main differences between Tetris Axis and Tetris Ultimate.

I love my 3DS, but I think this future line-up for the 3DS is really weak. Time to get a Wii U...?

Re: Free-To-Play Title Steel Diver: Sub Wars Breaks The Waves Today On The 3DS eShop
How is this exactly different from a regular demo? It is possible to buy just parts (levels, ships) of the game or something?
Also, played it for 5 minutes. I agree with the "Submarine Borefest" mentioned above...
