Yeah, Atooi has had problems communicating at times, but I must say they always bring the goods. I can’t recall a game of theirs I haven’t liked, even dating back to the Renegade Kid days.
Wait, Spirit Tracks being good is a hot take? I thought everyone knew that. It's definitely a million times better than Phantom Hourglass at a bare minimum.
I have Rare Replay on XBox, I’ve had it for years. The problem is, I don’t usually get an opportunity to play on the TV because the kids are using it. Besides, I like playing my switch more. As far as I’m concerned, those are two legitimate reasons to want Rare Replay on Switch. Maybe we won’t get it, but it’s still ok to want it.
I’d love to see a new version of Activision Anthology made with this kind of care, hopefully with Imagic/Mediagenic/homebrews included as well. And did Activision ever buy Absolute? Maybe throw some of those games in as well if they did.
MGS collection, Metroid Prime Trilogy, any previous Zelda remake/remaster, Mario Galaxy 2, Castlevania SOTN, GTA IV and V, Batman Arkham series, Activision Anthology, Fallout series, Persona series, Yakuza series, Eternal Darkness, Resident Evil 2, Battalion Wars series, Freedom Fighters, Xenoblade Chronicles X, XIII (classic version), etc. Plenty more, but that's a good start.
Would love to see a Chrono Trigger port on Switch featuring all 3 main versions - SNES, PSX, and DS. And a Chrono Cross reissue that's like FFIX - a little cleaned up, but mostly the same. That's probably the best route if they don't want to go all hog-wild ala the FFVII remake.
@Clyde_Radcliffe Probably three reasons - it was easy to remember, say, and enter; it was used in multiple games; and its effects were generally very useful, possibly even game-changing. Who here could only beat Contra w/ the code? Not JUST me, right?
This is somewhat more ridiculous than the Zelda that sold last week. You can't tell me that SM64 is historically important, and a sealed copy as rare, as the Legend of Zelda.
This is a museum piece, and as such it should retain some value. $110,000 worth? Maybe not. But let's not pretend that this is equivalent to just downloading the rom or something. The packaging differences between different runs, the SOQ differences, etc., all hold historical value.
The stylus controls actually work surprisingly well, but there is one reason Phantom Hourglass kinda sucks (or at least isn't as good as Spirit Tracks) - the timed hub levels. They had absolutely no place in a Zelda game. Ugh.
This is, essentially, a museum piece. Especially with the first-run art thst was later changed. I absolutely prefer having games open and available to be played, but there is still great historical value in having items around in exactly the same shape as they were back then.

Re: Talking Point: Should We Be Expecting More From Remakes And Remasters?
Video games are essentially modern art and literature, and should be treated just as seriously. Give us information, context, commentary, etc.

Re: Feature: 14 Nintendo Switch Ports We'd Still Love To See
Oh man, here we go...
MGS collection, Metroid Prime Trilogy, any previous Zelda remake/remaster, Mario Galaxy 2, Castlevania SOTN, GTA IV and V, Batman Arkham series, Activision Anthology, Fallout series, Persona series, Yakuza series, Eternal Darkness, Resident Evil 2, Battalion Wars series, Freedom Fighters, Xenoblade Chronicles X, XIII (classic version), etc. Plenty more, but that's a good start.

Re: Grand Theft Auto Trilogy's Latest Nintendo Switch Update Is Now Available
I will buy this when 1. It has been patched sufficiently to provide a good experience and 2. It is $30 or less. It'll be worth it at that point.

Re: Random: Check Out These "Epic" Free Guy Posters Inspired By Iconic Video Game Covers
Have no idea if the movie is going to be good, frankly I kind of doubt it, but these posters are fantastic.
Re: Random: Possibly The Rarest Nintendo e-Reader Card Ever Has Been Found Intact
Anyone have any idea how much the Air Hockey cards are worth? I might still have a few extras somewhere.

Re: Feature: 'Arcade Perfect' Be Damned: R-Type DX Is Still Portable Perfection
Love this, had a copy since not long after it was released. Truly one of the GBC's hidden gems. A little surprised it never hit 3DS VC.
Re: More Retro Games Are On The Way To Capcom Arcade Stadium
Everything already stated, plus Black Tiger. At a bare minimum.
Re: Feature: Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Is Secretly One Of The Best Zeldas
@AJWolfTill The stealth sections would have been a million times better without the time and with a lesser penalty for failure. Simply terrible.

Re: Feature: We Worked Out The Best Zelda Game Once And For All, Using Maths
Hot take - Phantom Hourglass was garbage, and Spirit Tracks was a million times better.
Re: Feature: How Takara Brought SNK's Arcade Fighters To The Humble Game Boy
I really, really loved these games. Some of my favorite GB games ever.
Re: Re-Release Of N64 Classic Glover Appears To Be Taking Shape, Kickstarter Teased
@NotoriousWhiz - what about Rocket: Robot on Wheels? That game is severely under-appreciated.
