To be honest, I'm not very interested. Ah well, the more channels the better eh? ... Until my Wii's memory gets filled up with VC games, then I might delete this.
Hm... I'm starting to consider not getting this. With all these border issues, plus the fact that I can already play the better-looking GBA port on DS, plus the fact that the EU version will probably run slower than the US version, I'm probably gonna save my points.
Arguably the greatest 2D platformer ever, so this gets a million out of 5 from me. Still, I wish this was the beefed up version from the SNES Mario allstars but seeing as we probably won't be getting that, this is absolutely fine.
Sonic's annoyed me ever since he got a freaking voice. You know, if I took over Sega the first thing I would do is make a complete Sonic reboot game, redesigning the characters to make 'em more like they were to start off with, and make it a side-scroller but with full 3D graphics. Isn't that what the hedgehog needs to be awesome again?
I'd agree with GoForkUrself about the difficulty- I mean, all the other Zelda games ARE too easy, (and oddly seem to get easier later into the game) But this game is very different to the other Zeldas and it makes it hard for me to accept it as part of the series. But nevertheless, it's a fine game, its just a shame it has been overshadowed by the original Zelda which was revolutionary, and ALTTP which was absolutely amazing.
One of the most annoying things about this game is that if you can beat it, it makes you so good at mario games that all the other games are so easy that they just get boring. Now I'm worried that mario galaxy will be a complete walkover... AH!!! somebody make me rubbish at mario games quick!
This is the best of the best, undoubtedly one of the finest games ever made. While the N64 didn't necessarily have a lot of good games, the good games that were on it are probably the best games ever. This, Mario 64, GoldenEye and StarFox 64 are maybe my favourite games ever.
Yeah sure this is a classic, but I'd much rather play through the GBA remake, or the incredible Super Metroid. It's very, very repetitve, and more frustrating than later Metroid games, and I can already play it on the Wii anyway (through an unlockable extra in Metroid Prime 1.)
This game looks absolutely pointless and I'm not even going to pay 1 wii point for it. Seriously though, can't this developer think of a better use for the remote other than 'popping bubbles'? Nnooo! Come on!
Looks like a 'month of mario' isn't gonna happen. It would be really great though if we got Mario Bros 3, Mario RPG, Yoshi's Island and Super Mario Kart.
I've played it to death and carried on playing it even after death! And I'll carry on playing it until the end of the universe!
And Mii be you if you want a fps mario game why dont you go search for some mod of Doom or something- I know somebody has modded Doom to give it weapons enemies and sound from mario games.
Grew up with this- probably the first racing game of its kind that I ever played so I'm going to rate it 5 stars. I can see why people dont like it so much, but the tracks are all really memorable for me.
And also, I don't know why, but this Mario Kart is definitely my favorite for the balloon battle mode. It just feels more fun than later games' versions of it. The Block Fort map is really good, and the Skyscraper, while its stupidly small, its insanely fun for quick, frantic battles. So, yeah, 5 stars from me!
The only reason why you should buy this is if you literally have NO access to another version of Pac-man ever. Cos really, there are so many hundreds of versions of it everywhere that paying for it is just a waste of money. I mean, I'm playing it right now, a flash version of it, for free. And its better than the NES version. So don't be a fool unless you have some kind of crazy need to play it on your Wii.
To Boo!/Panda sorry I'd recommend using a classic controller as B and Y are the main buttons which makes using a Gamecube controller really rubbish. And now time for my little rant about the Donkey Kong games:
Can't they give the Donkey Kong license back to Rare and let them make DKC4 for the DS or something? Or a remake of DK64 for the DS would be alright (and seems more likely seeing as they've already done Diddy Kong Racing)
Dunno about you but Donkey Kong games are getting worse and worse. Konga was fun for about a day, Jungle Beat was just a gimmick, I'm not interested in those GBA/DS jungle climber or whatever they're called games, and as for Barrel Blast... well thats just pathetic.
I miss the good ol' days when you first hopped into a minecart in DKC, or first had a ride on Rambi, or here in DKC2 unlocking the lost world... Ha- and that DK64 final boss in a really long hilarious boxing match!
This really is such a brilliant game- I don't really know how it manages to be so good, but it just is. Trust me. This is the best Metroid game (though Prime 1 and Prime 3 come close) and I'd even go as far as to say its the best SNES game ever, and the best Nintendo game released before Super Mario 64!
I'm annoyed!! Why? I grew up with this game- had really fond memories of it... but... I HATE IT! I HAAATTTE IT!!! Yet it brings back so many memories, everything from the awful Yoshi singing voices to the ridiculously easy final boss. I can see why people say this is the worst N64 game on the VC- it is! But I can't say no to it...
From the looks of things they're going to release around 10 N64 games every year. Which is very slow really, but think, after 5 years, thats 50 games to choose from, so surely all the classics will come eventually..? Or maybe not. Is 50 enough? Well I just want Zelda MM and all the games by Rare, which probably will never come on it anyway.
Even though this isn't a proper 3D game- I still think of it as the start of the 3D Sonic series (when every major sonic game released since would gradually get worse) I can see why people like it but for me, I like to pretend that the series 'ends' at Sonic & Knuckles. OK, the GBA and DS games are still awesome though.
Haha I finally managed to get all the medals on the normal and expert modes! It took a while but now i get to do the secret 'run around on foot' mode in multiplayer. Its one of the stupidest unlockables ever because the control for on foot is awful but I just love to laugh at it.
Perhaps it wasn't a good idea for you to play sunshine first... Obviously Mario 64 has smaller worlds, simpler graphics and stuff but it was revolutionary for the time- practically the first 3D platformer. So maybe you have to enjoy the original back in 1997 to believe that this is the better game
I have OOT playable on Wii through the bonus disc that came with Wind Waker. So I don't know whether to bother with this. Cos the bonus disc had rumble and the special master quest thingy. But still, it deserves 5 stars obviously.
I'm surprised at how similar to thousand year door this is. And that's certainly a good thing! I'm not that far into it but i've already been playing it for longer than most VC gaems!
It's amazing but... the frame rate on the EU version is almost unbearable! After playing it for a while I decided to play blue storm cos i hadnt played it in a while and it nearly made me feel ill with the sudden change in frame rate! (and blue storm's frame rate isn't that good anyway!)
If they do bring the expansion pak then i might consider getting this- but otherwise, it's a pretty dull racer thats nowhere near as fun now. It doesn't even feel that fast anymore! I admit it's a classic but GX improved on this a lot and so have other futuristic racers.
This is as good as the DK series has ever got. With DKC3 the design was starting to get old and the music was not as good, then with DK64 it was OK but more Banjo-Kazooie than proper donkey kong. Since then all we've had is loads of bongo games.
You lucky Americans... you get super metroid and metroid prime 3 in a few days and we have to wait until october... Please let this come out next friday PLEEEEASSSSE!
I've got every version of mario 64 and i have to say this one's the best. With a higher resolution than the original plus infinitely better controls over the ds this is a bargain for 1000 pts.

Re: The Virtual Console Archive is One Today!
Anyone notice how the Wii remote on the cake is the old design without the speaker and with small a and b instead of 1 and 2 buttons?
Anyway this is a great site and is probably the best place on the internet to check up on VC games and the reviews are mostly reliable too so... yay!
Re: EU VC Releases - 16th November - Double Dribble
Oh. My. God. Why even bother Nintendo? Ah well, its Mario Galaxy weekend- even though i'm not getting it till christmas...
Re: Check Mii Out Channel to hit on Sunday
Well, its better than everybody votes... so thats fine.
Re: Super Mario Bros. 3
Actually the border problems don't worry me cos i can just use my TV's settings to zoom in a bit and ignore it.
