As much as I love Falcom games, I havent gotten into the Trails series all that much. And I have to add how disappointed I am at the Game Key card response. "Beneficial to the customers" more like most beneficial to our wallet. Ill just buy digital if the physical is a key card.
@Glasso I would still expect better than PS4. The GPU may be similar in handheld mode in raw compute, but the CPU is WAY faster. And in docked I think the general consensus of near PS4 Pro is about right. Then throw on all the modern features and itll punch way above what the 8th gen could.
Those wattages are interesting to me. Are they just charging speed or something more? The 100W one... could that point to the Strix Halo chip being used for it in some sort of lower power mode? ASUS has already crammed it into a tablet after all.
I agree with this for the most part. I have both a Switch and a Deck. The Switch gets way more use. I'm busier than I used to be so when I have time to play games and relax, I really appreciate the console experience. Just plug the system in to the TV and go, no need to fiddle with resolutions or settings to get the best out of it. I am super excited to get a order in tomorrow!
@Greenspan Not at all. Only older technologies were susceptible to magnetic interference because they relied on magnets to work. Tape, spinning hard drives, CRTs. Modern solid state stuff is basically immune. If there is a field strong enough to affect modern electronics, there are going to be other issues.
I think that it looks compelling. I also do not think that the PC handhelds really compete with it. Maybe a lite version, but the main issue is the software. No PC game is going to detect docking and automatically switch resolution and settings as well as bump clocks to drive those increases. The best that can be done is to stop and adjust them yourself, but even the Steam Deck (which I love) will not report the resolution of the TV when plugged into it to the games. You have to go all the way to system settings, select the new resolution and restart the game. And the ones that do not run SteamOS? No contest in usability.
