@DoctorOverbuild They want it to share hype with the television series. I really liked Shattered Crystal, and they said in an interview this one would take more inspiration from Rush with more rewarding branched style paths. I'd say treat it like normal Sonic and it will hopefully be good.
I tweeted out a modified version of my advertisement as a thank you card for all the websites that covered my work. Highest level of Mario Maker achievement, I don't even need the rest of the medals, lol. https://twitter.com/wuvwii/status/714884131377655808
Pretty awesome to see my Metroid Resurrection ad up next to Samus in the top stories. If you're an absolute diehard Metroid fan and haven't checked it out, I recommend Other M. If you can get around putting story before gameplay for a different kind of Metroid experience, I've always still loved it!
@Simbabbad Hey, no problem. I could tell it was a little jealousy. I'm just as shocked my reddit advertisement got this much attention. Like the article says, I put a lot of effort into the courses, and people who played them were always pretty surprised at the quality, so I knew it was a matter of doing something that could give them more attention. People are just really hungry for anything Metroid. I appreciated the process, and I feel bad I haven't gotten around to playing what you adjusted for me yet. I went ahead and bookmarked your first one to make sure I don't forget. I recommend everyone else to do so too! https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/5E20-0000-0103-7CF6
@TheRedCap30 Thank you! I hope you enjoy them. As for more connected levels with a resaved file for all the main areas I might be interested in doing a Kirby set of levels with the hub being like Kirby's Adventure sometime. Here's an individual Kirby course I've made though: https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/D13D-0000-005C-0F69 (As for other characters, I have ones for Splatoon, Sonic, and even Vectorman)
@Luffymcduck I found it best to just focus on each area and what I wanted to branch off from it and the map took shape from there, but I like that idea. Especially for a map the player can check. I included fake Map Stations that just spit out Mystery Mushrooms, lol. Levels should also be able to get linked after each other, or only be unlocked to play after set other ones are finished.
Depending on your courses, if you felt good about them when you made them and there isn't major difficulty, don't worry about being obsolete without adding checkpoints. I just had two major Nintendo sites covering my courses, and over 100 people still went and starred/commented about them being the best thing ever, and it didn't matter they weren't updated versions with checkpoints thrown in. Just some words of encouragement.
@Simbabbad Her, actually. And I really enjoyed your series too (I've been meaning to play the updated versions for a long time), but I actually made and named mine before I ever discovered yours. I still encourage everyone to go play yours too, they truly offer a unique backtracking experience I didn't really go after with my Metroid experience, because I wanted to focus more on individual areas and recreations. I really appreciate your work, too!
@Aqueous Good job on the World Record! Sorry about the potential choke point, different people run into things differently and while I did a good amount of testing it might still happen. Thanks so much for appreciating my work though.
@shani Thank you for providing the links! Of course I couldn't in a static image, lol. But I put them in the original reddit source, where you can also find links to my original Miiverse drawings I used in the advertisement.
@PeterAndCompany I'm still here! They haven't taken any of my courses down since launch day, but my sympathy goes out to those who have that happen to their work!
Oh, wow. A comment on Miiverse told me about this article. Thanks so much, you guys! I really put a lot of work into the advertisement. I completely sympathize with the author's experience, but I stand by the original trilogy being made easy enough to not require being updated with checkpoints. I did a lot of testing originally without them, and so many people have been commenting about how they love them. I absolutely dedicate any attention I'm getting to Nintendo needing to realize this Metroid fanbase is real, and craving more. Thank you, and please check out my courses I put a lot of work into all of them!

If you were interested in it, there are actually makeshift slopes made out of Bill Blasters in the fourth one, and here's a course I made called "No Jokes, Real Slopes" https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/7ABE-0000-01D3-873D
