What a rubbish thing of him to say. I bet a lot of the development team have a lot to say about him but have kept their opinions to themselves, or don't have a chance as with most of game development, the Director or Producer get all the praise. While the rest of the team actually do the damn work. Hopefully, after this outburst, we'll hear the other side about what it was like to work under Kamiya. I bet he was an absolute arse to work with.
Must admit, never heard of the umbrella company nor any of the Developers they own, which is quite the achievement! Either way, rubbish news for all those who are impacted, I hope they land on their feet. The software / games / tech industry is in a bad place right now.
Personally, I couldn’t care. I buy 90% digital, 10% is physical but is all purchased new online. All retro is dealt with by emulation.
But I’m gutted for young kids, people who can’t afford new prices or who deal with a physical collection. But then again, Game are such an awful company to buy from, I stopped buying from them over a decade ago, and they’re meant to be awful as an employer.
As others have said, I thought their terrible prices, poor trade in value and heavy pre-owned stocked favoured this. Maybe pre-owned is no longer their money spinner?
Really looking forward to this! Takes me back to the end of the golden era when imports stopped becoming a thing for us in the UK, but this then arrived out of nowhere. Can't decide between importing or crossing fingers LRG or another Publisher brings it over to the UK. Hovering over the import button on Amazon Japan, though!

I'm hoping that once they patch the game to a bullet proof state, we'll get a physical release.
