@Grumblevolcano I think hype/enthusiasm for FFXVI is gonna die off quickly after its release, tbh. While a contender for GotY, its undoubtedly gonna get beaten out by TotK imo and the same is true for both sales and sustained popularity.
It will surge for a time after release, but then it will simmer and TotK will rise above it once more.
We had fanarts of "Rehydrated Ganondorf" for ages before this game was even announced to exist and now Ninty went and make his literal hot smokin' ass canon. Can you blame them, we've been living in the Gerudo Desert without His Majesty for way too damn long now.
The King Hath Returneth. Hallelujah, and rejoice peons.
Seeing some of the commentary about mislike of Zelda's EN voice acting just makes me think the vast majority of y'all would absolutely despise the Xenoblade Chronicles, haha.
What, is Zelda a little too Bri'ish for ya in BotW? That's true horror, right here gentlemen ladies and eldritch morphoids in between.
@Bigmanfan I mean.... why not? Differing gameplay aside (which I personally would rather prefer, frankly. No reason Zelda should operate exactly like Link, after all she is not Link she's Zelda lol) what exactly would anyone be missing out on with playable Zelda? I see no compelling reason to be actively lobbying against such an outcome, frankly.
And this is despite my own personal belief, which is that nothing so far has produced compelling evidence she will be. But, again I say why oppose it? I also struggle to understand the rationale behind insisting Zelda's gameplay would not only be stealth-based, but also somehow lesser than Link's. She held her own in open battle perfectly fine in Age of Calamity, did she not?
@Debbiee It's really not that people are against it so much as they simply do not see the evidence as nearly as credible or concrete as you appear to. Frankly, framing it in such a manner is rather disingenuous imo. Veers into the realm of a particularly nasty and specific form of slander, actually.
@blindsquarel I mean, it was never truly credible rumours anyway. It was actually more people theorising about playable Zelda based on certain "coming-of-age" and "discarding of traditional femininity" themes like the cutting of one's more elaborate hair in favour of a more bob-like haircut lending itself to independence and combat suitability.
So, while I'd hardly be against the idea I definitely don't have the same (imo kinda delusional) faith in the idea that others seem to possess. If anything, the 3rd trailer showed more evidence they're returning to the archaic "damsel in distress" role she's oft known for in this series. It's never easy for people to come off the copium once they've convinced themselves so thoroughly.
@Il_Nintenditore Isn't it interesting how straight hetero couples and strong white men are never considered "forced down one's throat" and "in your face"?
I just thought it was interesting how such things only EVER seem to be chucked at LGBT pairings and women characters who break the mould in the media.
@CharlieGirl Don't clap yourself on the back too much, friendo.
The point people are making is that this really isn't all that big a change. No one "fears" it, they just think the people making the movie are a little too assured of their own "revolutionary" work.
@GooseLoose1 I mean technically Ultra Instinct IS base form Goku, but utilizing 100% of his fighting potential, so to speak. So yes, in fact, Goku's most potent form is base since the Tournament of Power.
Played the demo, started with Osvald and am likely to continue this in the full game. Something compelling about a man seeking to avenge his family, considered the Dancer but Agnea's so much less appealing than Prim. We went from mature but oppressed woman ekeing out a living in a seedy dive bar looking to avenge family to a ditsy fool seeking to.... become the profession she begins the game with? Talk about a narrative downgrade lol
@Korsica_Is_Best_Girl I'm thinking it's far more likely to be as simple as them having had this game baked and ready to ship as early as 6 months prior to release. The same can likely be assumed of the DLC Waves, if the video preview of Wave 4 is anything to go by. We usually don't get plot glimpses till much later, that we did honestly speaks for itself.

@SirCarbs You know, when you start your comment with an inflammatory insinuation, you make only one person appear the lesser. Yourself.
Do better. BE better. It's not your responsibility to "own" anyone for their beliefs should you think them faulty.

It isn't, Peach has always been a girlboss.
