After 130 hours I finished the game. I experimented a lot with things, fought many mobs, explored, tried to get my old horse from BOTW Wii U, talked to too many NPC's. I have not progressed much, but this also wasn't really my focus, In my next open world game I will focus a tad more on getting as strong as possible faster, because this may be the thing that makes open world games even more interesting. For now, this is also my goal after I've beaten the game, but I can't help myself and simply enjoy some funny stuff like beating enemies in a fun way.
Edit: I like the game a lot right now, the best difficulty setting is hard, like on Wii U for Hyrule Warriors, very hard is to tiresome with no upgraded characters, better done if one has more levels, normal is too easy. Some maps in the beginning I really disliked, midgame was great though for now, Hyrule Warriors remains my favourite, but this game is awesome too. One thing bugs me though is the option to offer something to the "Goddess" of Hyrule. I'm here to have fun not to engage in a made up religion and I already have a God and his son is Jesus Christ.
It's a frantic fighting game that is about muscle memory, in some ways it is like F-Zero and Smash Bros. combined, you have to pull out the right combo, evade at the right time, while also being fast enough. Anyone can adjust the difficulty to their liking, so that it does not end up in mindless button mashing but in a thought out challenge.
I preordered the game, yet first beat MHW Fatalis, a monster I have never fought before, so it took me 2 days to finally defeat it with the right equipment. Then I was very happy, because that allowed me to play Age of Calamity. I already liked the original Hyrule Warriors which I have on Wii U, so this one looked even better to me. What I like about Nintendo games is their coziness, they are hard, but not exhausting and this is good for body and soul.
I'd love to share my world but it isn't finished yet. I can understand why some people are a tad complaining about the game. My reason for being a bit dissatisfied with it is that they left out some features of MM1. The Mystery Mushroom gave you an extra hit, let you break blocks while being little and made themed levels possible. Link can do that too and he is pretty amazing, but his ability to use bombs makes him unusable in my old levels, and here we come to the second problem, I made around 18 levels in MM1 of which around 10 I got a fair amount of likes for and I consider them myself to be very good levels.
I spent much time making the worlds on Wii U, usually a good level takes about 10 - 30 hours to build. Now I find it unfair that I can't have the option to simply re-upload at least 10 of my Wii U levels. Like many others have stated here and elsewhere, I don't have the time to build new levels, especially quality ones, If I had my old ones I could change them a bit and give them new features and build 1 or 3 new levels slowly taking my time, staying relaxed.
I like MM2 additions, yet there are so many games out there, that I don't have the time to concentrate on it. I loved MM1 it made you fall in love again with all the old games. In MM2, the novelty of building for me is gone in many aspects, all I wanted is to rather have a relaxing time and to build only a little.
One other thing that MM2 is missing are the many funny stamps that one could post at the end. I feel a bit frustrated, why do I have to start from scratch? Why some of the good things missing from the old game? I still enjoy it though, it's a great game and the more I play i the more I enjoy it.
Many say that it does not affect online play, but it does! If somone is firehopping he gains more boost everytime. I can tell you what happens to somone who does not use it, or can´t use it (bike users) they get hit by items all the time. Why? Because the firehoppers outboost them at critical points. Even if it´s only for an inch, the red shell behind you, will get you and not the firehopper. So I was getting hit like 4 or 6 times in a row and ended often in the last ranks (before firehopping existed always in upper ranks and Time Trials records) If firehopping stays, bikes are not really needed anymore, because it is much more difficult to win with them. The item unbalance just adds to that. And hopping around is for children, it looks silly and a constant hopping around clicking the jump button is very uncomfortable, I want that my fingers still function when I get old, this is just bad design. They should maybe then rename the gamename to Bunny Kart 8?
I personaly don´t really like the artwork in SS, I mean it is a good game, but it lacks a bit that special Zelda feeling. It is to bright and shiny in a childish way, that is not bad, but Zelda is all about the special feelings one gets from the graphics and the music/sounds. The enemies are also a bit on the childish side. The continous help from Fi is too much, it gets to easy. It feels like it was designed for children that had not played Zelda yet. The dungeons and forrest etc. are too much constrained, there is no big freedom and it feels not natural.
On the other side it has many good things, like motion control, it has beautiful graphics, has a nice story and the bossbattles are very interesting. The music is a bit different then in other Zeldas, it is not outstanding but good.
The best Zeldas in my opinion: ALTTP, OOT, TP Dense atmosphere.
