I'm still on the fence about key cards. On one hand, it's interesting to still have a physical cart that somehow shows ownership of a game. I understand that if I lose the cart, sell it, snort it, or eat it (again), that the game is attached to having that cart inserted to play it.

What I'm not a huge fan of is the thought that should any given company decide to shut down their services that the game could be "lost" and then I just have a plastic memory of a game. I'm also not sure how much (if any) of the data is on the cart. I don't want to stop supporting some publishers based on the thought of this matter because I want more games to be created. But...I'm also not jumping to the front of the line to get many of these games.

Does anyone else feel the same, or is there really just a hard line of either love or hate for this new era in game data control?

@Sambuc
I'm genuinely curious what makes the souls series more difficult than the Castlevania series in your opinion? I've played both and don't disagree with your sentiment. But, I'm also about to out myself as one of the very few who has never completed Castlevania 2 or 3. 😭
The souls series for some reason was a bit easier on my now much older thumbs and reflexes, and I was able to complete them.
