@Switch_Pro You really sound like an arm chair developer.
Just because bigger studios you care about don't use it, doesn't mean this isn't a big problem for everyone.Unity having been in the industry for quite sometime to the point that hundreds of studios relied on it and have developed their own tools and frameworks around it. Just to "Oh the industry knows its going downhill, just change engines" isn't a drop it and forget it task.
This also sets a bad precedence for the industry. If any middleware, not just game engines, start doing this, either the costs for development will be passed to the consumer, or the studio just dies.
In an industry where 90% of "AAA" games are just chasing after the latest trend, a lot of indie games are the heart and soul of the industry and having their main engine utilized against them is just hearbreaking.
1. A lot of AAA do outsource to Unity, typically for mobile devices to save time on building an engine exclusively for mobile. Just because you don't care, doesn't mean it's not happening.
2. This will hurt or stunt a lot of indie developers who make it big,
@Zulzar Some research, you did. The game had a huge content update after that video and fixed the issues people complained about the launch and added more content. But go ahead and be being ignorant. They not making any off of this and doing this because they love the console.
@YANDMAN,I sincerely recommend revisiting Sinister Assistant, it is their best game. There's a bunch of nice comments on Space Hunted on the Miiverse before it was taken down.
@YANDMAN They are more in line with Space Invaders and Donkey Kong. Have you beaten Sinister Assistant? It's basically an homage to Mystery of Castle Murasame.
I'm not part of the development studio but I follow the developer when they first started. They are a small studio who are huge Nintendo fans obviously, and they like making games on discontinued Nintendo hardware. They're doing this out of passion and wanted to make a sjmall Holiday themed game for fun, but due to the pandemic and other factors made them miss the launch date. Please be kind, they are really nice developers who are just doing things out of passion. They are making a game for Switch as a bigger project.
It breaks my heart that people will rip on a small passion project made by group of fans who just want to breathe some life into an underrated console.
@Bizaster They are small indie studio that just likes making games on legacy Nintendo consoles. They're doing this out of passion rather than sales. They weren't able to make the December release due to the pandemic.
Why does everyone hate the Wii U so much? It was really underrated. I personally loved it.
Also releasing a physical Wii U game in 2020 is just like releasing an NES game in 2020, the developer wanted to, so they did. Cannot hate on that kind of passion.

@Dr_Lugae They're actually in the same universe, the joke that these two games are fanfics from the main character in the first game.
Re: Random: Holiday-Themed Game Seasonal Assistant Coming To The Wii U eShop Early On In 2021
@YANDMAN Why are they bad? They're enjoyable as an 80s throwback.
