@uptownsoul Here's a source referring to what I'm talking about, but I'd be more careful on explicitly saying "Xbox Series S/X 'only" because Xbox as a brand is trying to move in the same way that smartphones run the same software, as the architecture is similar. I.e. Sonic Frontiers for the Xbox brand isn't limited to either Xbox One or the Xbox Series, whereas with the PlayStation brand you have two versions of the same game.
@uptownsoul From my understanding, games these days are more scalable than they have ever been. When it comes to Xbox One X in particular, that system still has a level of forward compatibility, a capability to at least somewhat run software with the Series S/X and PS5 in mind. Specs on par with the One X may not be as limiting as one would initially think, though I think the real area of tension is Nintendo securing affordable hardware at a reasonable price in order to make that happen.
@uptownsoul Considering mobile architecture is growing so rapidly, here's hoping Nvidia can chuck out a chipset strong enough to at least run games on something akin to that of the Xbox One X. Doom Eternal, albeit a real fun experience on Switch, really fueled the hunger for games running well for me.
Wonder what else they could have discussions about beyond what Nintendo must have in the Switch 2. I remember Capcom and Nintendo having discussions about the NX, and Nintendo had the audacity to think that they could get by with 2GB of RAM on the Switch. A producer at Capcom had to tell them, "No, no, this thing really needs 4GB at the very least." And here we are, a Nintendo Switch with 4GB of RAM has lasted 2017-2022 so far. Really hoping 3rd parties push Nintendo to make one heck of a technical marvel with the Switch 2.
I agree that the writing is rather poor, but everything from the lighting, the color, the animation, and the cinematography is downright fantastic candy to the eye. What's unfortunate is that the visuals are so captivating that they had no need to dumb the writing down for a younger audience; kids would watch it anyway.
@strollin_stu It's to preserve the reputation or the public image of a branding. Either that or they have plans to use the concept for a future project and they like to surprise their audience, which isn't as doable as it was before.
@jimbob298 I see where you're coming from, that no one's looking for an acting spectacle to lead a role such as Bayonetta considering gameplay trumps narrative in this context, but the concern is moreso in the hands of the world of career acting rather than the actual target audience (though, correct me if I'm wrong). Is it not, "moving up in the world" to take an additional role for one's portfolio? In the world of acting, you want as many noteworthy roles as you possibly can. Bayonetta is a reputable brand, which bolsters Hale's background even further. Taking on another role, adding that variety or diversity to your resume, is moving up in the world.
@InJeffable To be fair, this is the same person that claims she is the only possible Bayonetta and got salty towards her replacement actress—which from our limited perspective is irrefutably pure, unadulterated, petty envy—for moving up in the world. The world of acting is full of liars seeking to save their own respective hides, so this could very well be a revelation of Hellena's character. Furthermore, albeit emotions and tensions are high in a situation like this, for someone to refute an argument with language such as, "that's an absolute lie!" there's an iota of sus in the air. If it's truly a lie that's being spouted against you, why this level of defense? Surely there are receipts of these higher offers, assuming they exist; if they do, Taylor's reputation is absolutely fubar. Lot of pressure, don't you think?
Hellena Taylor's rhetorical strategies require some work. She's only the English voice for Bayonetta, and the strongest supporting English-speaking audience for video games overall—let alone Bayonetta—is the American. If she'd not instructed what course of actions to take, she'd probably have made a stronger movement take place. Furthermore, why so idiosyncratic? While she was a pivotal part of Bayonetta, she no longer is. Bayonetta was a concept before Taylor was given the opportunity to lend her voice to the figment. Even if she was, the Bayonetta fan base wants nothing to do with politics of any kind, hence the avid desire to play a fun game like Bayonetta 3 in the first place.
Update: Well, she knows a little bit about Jesus it seems. If that's the case, hopefully she either recognizes or is told she can go and find a decent church to help her climb out of this financial hole she's in.
Honestly Nintendo should just leave it as is. Smash is selling fine on its own, and the community really doesn't even need Nintendo to keep up what it's got going on.

@KBuckley27 Not necessarily, she's hired just in time to discuss finalization of the Switch 2's specs.
