I don't think they would, but all this mentioning of the FFVII remake trilogy made me realize just how much I pray that they don't split it up into multiple games. Again, I really don't think they will, especially since they already revealed the game's logo, and the title is the same as the original, but part of me can't help but worry. Like on paper, I could see it potentially making a certain amount of sense to investors, ("Just split it into two - a child Link game, and an adult Link one!") but, even discounting the back-and-forth required for the Spirit Temple, it just would lose a lot of the game's sauce. One thing I'm torn on is whether I want more insight into what happens during the timeskip. One the one hand, there is something really powerful to just waking up seven years later to The Horrors that Ganondorf has wrought... (Especially if Hyrule Field and Castle Town get more fleshed-out to begin with.) But on the other hand, Breath of The Wild was a pretty recent masterclass in that very same technique. But in terms of wishlists, I want more Sheik. I'm almost dead certain he wouldn't be made playable in this, but fighting alongside him like that one piece of promo art would be rad as hell. Another more minor thing - get rid of the on-screen timer when you go in a heated area without the Goron Tunic, and just make it a gradual health drain. One thing that I feel certain is unlikely, (or at minimum, they wouldn't attribute it to this) would be adding a few bits from the manga adaptation - Mido insisting on coming with us to the Forest Temple to find Saria would help give his character a bit more depth. (I don't see a likely path to add the manga's gut-punch wrt Volvagia, though.) Lastly, give the Happy Mask Salesman a bit more depth that hints at Majora's Mask. (And, while I do still want new games, since they are already doing all this work on OoT, it better lead into a Majora remake.)
Hear me out - what if they took inspiration from Fire Emblem, and let you recruit NPCs that you encounter in levels so long as you kept them alive until the end of the stage, (preferably with friendly fire toned down) and then let you choose who to bring along (or maybe even play as) in the following levels? In 64, as long as they were alive, Peppy would offer advice, Slippy showed boss health bars, and Falco initiated alternate routes - that feels like the bones of something ripe for expansion. Plus, that would go a long ways to building up a roster that could be used for online multiplayer, which feels like a must. Actually, speaking of multiplayer, while this probably wouldn't gel as well with the above, I would adore getting some co-op action going. Most of all, though, get good VAs, let em go ham, and don't try to force new memes - StarFox 64 is basically The Princess Bride of gaming in terms of quotability, but you don't become that on purpose. (If it comes out and people start moaning about the game being "Marvel-coded", I'm going to McFlipping lose it. Quips are not inherently bad!)
It'd probably be left for either a general Direct or an Indie World, but I really hope we see Mina The Hollower. I just want to know that Yacht Club Games is okay.
Objectively, TTYD is my favorite game in the series. The writing is better and funnier, and the gameplay is just all-around better and has more depth.
But the reason it will only ever tie the original Paper Mario in my personal rankings is because it was one of my very first video games, and the memories of playing it together with my dad - passing the controller back and forth so he did the jump attacks and I did the hammers, etc - are something I will cherish until the end of time.

Re: Talking Point: Can Metroid Prime 4's Title Screen Go As Hard As The Others?
Why are we all sleeping on the Prime Trilogy menu?? Some of the best music in the series, and all inside Samus's arm cannon?
