Re: Talking Point: What Would You Want To See In A 'Mega Man 12'?

SeveredLegs

Mega Man should look oldschool, it's the winning formula. Inti Creates (Mega Man 9/10) kept it simple, but they also did a great job with visuals in the Blaster Master Zero series, where the graphics look like HD-2D. The goal should be for the core presentation to feel like 8-bit, but with more parallax scrolling, slightly more colors, etc. Turning Mega Man into a Mega Man X game would not be ideal.

Re: Sonic Movie Sequel Scheduled To Start Production In March Next Year

Hate to be a skeptic since I had so much fun watching the first one — way more than expected. But the addition of Tails is probably going to turn this into a more kiddy (or more annoying) experience. Probably both, honestly. It's going to be really tough balancing him in the story, I think. Jim Carrey was so good as Robotnik that I have hopes, though. If they can weave in Knuckles somehow, it might offset Tails's lameness?

Maybe I'm being too harsh here, I dunno.

Re: Feature: Best Super Nintendo (SNES) Games

This list is pretty damned reasonable. A bit more so than I expected it to be, which says ....reasonable things about your the audience here, ha. The only unforgivable reversal here is putting Street Fighter II Turbo ahead of Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers. Anyone who has played both would never objectively choose Turbo, as SSF2 is the upgraded version, with more refinements and options. Would take the SEGA Genesis version anyway, though.

Re: Feature: Every 3D Super Mario Game Ranked

I think it's a big disservice to the quality of 3D Land that it's behind Sunshine and World. 3D Land was VERY good, and 3D World just didn't captivate me the same way. And let's not pretend Odyssey is really the best. In 3 years, do you really think you're going to yearn for Odyssey over 64 or Galaxy? Nah. Galaxy is the best, and the argument for 64 is there. But Odyssey? No way, man. Appropriate ranking has got to be Galaxy and 64 in the top 3. I get that everyone has their preferences, but Galaxy 1 and Mario 64 are the ones you're gonna come back to. Maybe Sunshine in there as one you come back to because it's a good alternate take on 64.

Re: Is The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Taking To The Skies On Nintendo Switch?

@MaxiPareja It'll still sell though. But I agree with your points. They'd really have to upgrade the visuals and figure out how to simplify the motion controls to make this thing work. I'm not sure people want to use the joycons for this game. Maybe holding button combinations mixed with tilting the controller can simulate WiiMotion Plus in some way? Even so, is that a direction that needs to even happen? If they do this, my guess is that they just simplify the enemy design and remove a lot of the motion required stuff.

Re: Is The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Taking To The Skies On Nintendo Switch?

Obviously this game will sell well and all, but it's the only main Zelda I haven't bothered to finish. I've been watching a walkthrough recently and I think a lot of the game falls flat. The humor is boring, the motion controls don't add enough to make it fun (I even preferred the simple motion controls on TwiPri), and generally I think the presentation/graphics fall short. The formula definitely needed the mix-up that was BOTW. Maybe I should try playing it again versus watching the walkthrough? I dunno.

Re: Super Mario Maker 2 Version 3.0.1 Is Now Available, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

@Heavyarms55 I didn't play the game and, like most people, I was pleasantly surprised on the original game that they put as much effort as they did into it, as far as free updates and new ideas. With all of the stuff they pumped into the sequel from the get-go, I see it as overall being a win, don't you? Yeah there's stuff they could have added, but this is a full-featured product.
