Re: Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King Arrives on 20th January

For people who are getting this because they want to start in the series or never finished the ps2 version here is what you need to know the 3ds version is supposed to be fan service, not that is a bad thing but this and the ps2 version will give each a different experience, the graphics on the ps2 version are not that colorful it gives more a sober vibe, the houses and the trees feel more remote from each other, and also random encounters which added a lot of pressure in the gameplay it basically forced you to heal before going on a route or entering a dungeon, the 3ds version will have more content than the ps2 version but graphics are lot more colorful more child friendly, every object is more restricted so that you can see everything on a tiny screen and also you will able to see monsters outside which means no random encounters.

Re: Sega Placing "Huge Emphasis On Quality" With Future Sonic Titles

Rindou

Deepressing thoughts on this thread, this franchise had is ups and downs but i think anyone can agree that Sonic have potential as character and Sega knows that more than anybody else and that is why they are still making games.
If they are thinking of quality they should take look at some other successful franchises and what make people play those games, Pokémon, Zelda, Kingdom Hearts, Shin Megami Tensei are examples.
A in-depth aspect could be exactly what is missing in the recent Sonic games, also with such cute and dynamic characters multiplayer is important for the game to be addictive and fun as possible.

@MoonKnight7 Thanks for the reply and:

"There doesn't seem to be any evidence that they are going to include physical copies."

That is true and i think that nintendo may just want to go the digital direction for now only and that is what we can assume , but you see they could be testing the consumers with this new loyalty program and as more people join their program they might add more stuff and bonus for people who buy physical copys its to early to tell for sure i myself dont know but the fact that you can get rewarded by buying physical games especially the big titles that are coming like pokémon sun/moon and others makes sense to me and it would be very strange if that didnt happen, and that would also be where the criticism comes for me, (if this is only gonna be for digital consumers not physical this could well be just a preparation of bigger things that is to come like the NX).

Re: Feature: Breaking Down the My Nintendo Loyalty Economy

@MoonKnight7 that logic is not true, if nintendo only cared about the digital direction to get games, then tell to yourself why physical copys still exists ? this that we see in this article is just the little we know about the my nintendo program, im sure they gonna include rewards or something for physical buyers in the longway, a logic thinking would be that some exclusive physical games like pokémon sun/moon that is coming and others major nintendo titles could get you coins because that makes sense (we just dont know how its gonna work), not trying to sound rude but you are just judging the program before it even comes out, its still very early to say anything as there is many things we still dont know but dont worry about being a physical buyer. ^^

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Fortress of Secrecy Needs to Tighten Security for the Year Ahead

@Snader this did not happen only with the logos but with the pokémon in the games to, volcanion/hoopa/diancie got leaked way before their official announcement (months not just a day like sun/moon), people got that same reaction on youtube official pokémon channel announcement video (when they were expecting a pokémon Z announcement), i also do think that nintendo should be working and trying to prevent their obvious leaks , looking at the other side we cant prevent all the leakers from this world but i also realized that also happens on very good things that most people like , we dont see this happening to the digimon franchise or something of the sort its just happens with pokémon franchise and there is just all kinds of people involved.

Re: Why We're Still Playing… Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver

The Nintendo DS have a big library of games, i can say that pokémon HGSS is still probably on the top 10 best DS games , mainly because of the huge content it was , it got very good reviews , things like the pokemon following you , and the the lots of challenges it introduces makes thoses game have a lot of replay value.

Re: Why We're Still Playing… Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver

@Mainsaile there is a huge factor in all pokemon games that is the battles you do in the game story, some are very iconic and memorable for example if you battle a strong gym leader you cant defeat or some big battle facility like (Battle Frontier), the deçision of what pokemon you choose its very important if you want to progress in the game, (the starter pokemon being one of them), and then its comes to a lot of exploring, catching mons in different areas, leveling up your mons, learning special moves to your mons, mega evolutions there is a lot of features and challenges you can participate with your pokemon like contests and so on they all had a very big difficulty and that is why people can become very addicted to the pokémon games, while it still can be a little childish sometimes its a game everyone can play and have lots of fun, but there is this thing called pokémon competitive battling that long time hardcore pokémon fans still play which involves lots of complex strategys to many to type here but i can tell you that to be good in pokemon competitve it takes years and i have been involved in pokemon since the first games come out im 21, and with every new pokemon game it comes more new features, new pokemon and so on that add more depth into the games and it can be hype to everyone that is a fan.

Re: Feature: Reflections on 20 Years of Pokemon

Im gonna share you my experiençe and i hope some people can relate to it as well : So it all started for me when i was very young with pokemon red, i was mostly influenced by my brother, i started slowly in the game and everything looked quite complex to me the first time i played it, as i played the game more it comed to a time that i was already very addicted to it as i had all my pokemon level 100 and such, the first time i defeated the pokemon league in the game it was a very vivid experiençe to me as i remenber seeing some pokemon first time like vaporeon it was so beautiful i still remenber how shocked i was when i was battling it , and i had a amazing feeling when i defeat the elite four first time because i thought i could never win it like the other people did (i was very shy in those times and not that confident on myself), i skipped the 2 generation games when it comed out (Gold/Silver), it was also those times when i started to watch the anime , oh you know those happy days.
Then other pokémon games started to come out like ruby and sapphire it was a whole different generation some people will understand what i mean things looked more advançed and some people i knew had given up in pokémon in gen 2, i keeped going more and more deep in the series for some reason they always fascinated me, i have been buying all the pokémon games since ruby/sapphire until now oras, i myself have learned competitive battling since gen 4 and i have been in contact with all kinds of people until today, it helped me in my development as a pokémon trainer, i can say that my status right now is of a fanatic when it comes to pokémon strategys , abilitys and everything related to pokémon and it started to be a big part of me for sure, i can say that pokemon is a very good game and i always recommend it to my friends if possible and try to show to them how amazing those games are, or help people if they want to start in competitive battling, looking back now i wouldnt know what pokemon is if i wasnt influenced to play it, those may be complex games at first look but trust me thank god that didnt happen, because i have been growing with pokemon and its was been amazing experiençe and i recommend everyone to try it out if they like RPG games and never tryed them. ^^

Re: Site News: Welcome To The Brand New Nintendo Life!

Rindou

Im loving the new website design, and i just activated my account today.
I have been paying attention to nintendo life since long time, and i have the habit to come everyday to check nintendo news and etc.
I feel that there is still a lot to improve and things can only get better, for example the comment section there should be a option to make it not all that white or bright especially people that have vision problems, i think that should be mentioned, anyway that is the only thing i can notice right now. ^^
