As a gamer, I will review how fun the games are to me, partially objective partially subjective. Z-A is not that fun, not more fun then any other 6/10 or 7/10 games. Simple as that.
For the reviews on NL or other site, as it could really influence how people spend their hard earned/saved money, it really should be rating the games against the games in the same price range.
If you really likes collectibles, pokemon is 10/10, no other games can have more "teammates" I guess.
As an RPG game, hmmm, oh please, there are only this much we can award it for its art, music, even the "innovative battle systems" has been around for like 15 years? The story is just simply flat and not able to support the whole gameplay. Calm yourself down and read among those people who rated Z-A low, most of them mentioned somthing like "if this is not a pokemon game, it would have been rated lower", in another words, if we rated it just as a game, it will be rated very low".

You will see 2 types of reviews (of this game):
1. Comparing it with other pokemon games, usually this will give it a higher scores. As a pokemon game, it really is newer and more innovative than other pokemon games. No doubt.
2. Comparing it with all other games around the same price range.
Cyberpunk 2077: way larger map, way more things to do, way livelier city, way more surprises, way better graphics, way more detail.
Black myth wukong: way deeper story, way better music, way better design and details, way livelier character.
Undertale (cheaper): way better characters, way more fun in a way smaller map with way worse graphic but still better than recent years pokemon.

And I would prefer it to be reviewed in scenario 2, and I hope all review on all site reviewed it as scenario 2. One of the key aspect of a pokemon is they evolve, but i dont see the game evolves at all.

"At least they made a breakthrough in combat!", ya, at least, people are asking for the "least".

I really hope that the franchise I love grows, and evolves into something amazing. But seriously, the game seems more and more like just keeping the brand alive for more merchandise and more money.

Yes, this game is a sub-7 for me. 9 is definitely too high, considering all those other games out there, rating it 9 is simply arrogant.
Anyway, a game's greatness is not by how much one rate it, it's about how much you enjoy it. Cheers, and enjoy you 9/10 master piece.
Sorry for my nags.

Re: GameStop Fires Employee For Leaking Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Switch

I think:
1. Mike is clearly wrong for posting work stuff online, Gamespot has the very right to fire him as he breached a company policy, regardless this involves Nintendo or not. Basically any employee should not post any work related stuff online (unless for whistle blowing purposes maybe?). This is not from ethical POV, it's a very common policy in almost any industry which agreed by both employer and employee from the first day of work. Ya this is adult's life.
2. Nintendo could still make gamestop pay for this if they want to, but I think Nintendo CANNOT make Mike pay as the leak was breached by an employee of gamestop rather than Mike himself. (Hey Nintendo Ninja, do it)
