Don't even mess with the Nintendo Switch version. Nintendo is ridiculous. I pay the $50 a year but without that N64 controller my brain can't even handle the ridiculous controls. That N64 controller is impossible to find unless you want to pay $100 for it. Played the Xbox X version last night. Modern controls and plays well enough for a game made in that era. Brought back tons of good memories! I love how the game plays and feels better on Xbox but to play it correctly on Nintendo you need to spend $150 to $200. Also I played this on my Retropie with a knock off N64 controller and then on my actual Nintendo 64 with a N64 controller. The Nintendo Switch makes it way harder than it was back then IMO
Yeah I think the main issue is why make a brand new game called Splatoon 3 and split the player base when it's not that big of a change. Developers liked EA and Nintendo at this point in time in gaming should just make a living entries. They are kind of doing that with Mario Kart 8 but if the changes are that small just keep updating the game with new areas. Don't get me wrong I will throw my money at Nintendo all day long. Splatoon 352 count me in!
I love, love, love the online aspect of the game. I think that addition is really cool and playing with people around the world is mind blowing! However a couple things that kind of confuse me. Why did they get rid of letting go of the button in bowling? That is a hard habit to break and I loved being able to let go of the ball whenever I wanted. Maybe I am nuts but it felt like I had more control over the ball. Also I am kind of shocked they don't have any kind of progression in the offline mode. That is such a Nintendo thing I am shocked it's missing. I kind of agree that this should of almost been a Nintendo Switch Online game which the subscription because that seems like what they are pushing. Who knows though. Nintendo might pull something crazy out of there hat and bring in Disc Golf and all that other stuff. It should of been day one though. Disc Golf and Billiards would round out this game nicely.
