I'm really surprised that Totori is #1 and Firis to be as high as it is, I thought that a lot of fans hated it and I wasn't part of the norm. So I'm thrilled, to say the least. I'm a tad salty that Lulua is as low as it is as that's my favorite entry and my second pick is Shallie. But with all that in mind not a bad list; it'll be interesting too see how this changes in the coming months.
I love the Atelier games as you see by my profile pic, the Blue Refection anime wasn't too bad so I'm hopeful this'll be just as good but tempering my expectations.
Got this at launch wanted too finish Engage first, that didn't end up happening the pull for this game was too strong. I'm having a blast so far. My only issue is it's much easier than the first game, usually I wouldn't mind but their isn't an option to change the difficulty, just today I fought an optional boss where the bulk of my party was 9 levels below the recommended for example.
@Ralizah pro tip: the games always go on sale across all platforms when a new game drops or around then. So if you do want to grab them wait for one of these sales.
@GrailUK In short they're Slice Of Life anime JRPG's with a focus on crafting (some of the best in the genre to be frank) and strong character development.
I'd personally love to see the Tactics games, the XIII Trilogy as well as Type 0 and as a side note, since the 3ds e-shop is shutting down both Bravely Default and Bravely Second would be great. Better still if they add more jobs.
I'm only partway into Chapter 4 with around 50 odd hours of playtime; I've been completely surprised with the level of character development that the side guests have provided so far, for not only the Hero's that join the party but those in other RPG's NPC's that would've just been passed off as one time quest givers. It makes me want too go out of my way to complete them. Some JRPG's main stories don't even hold a candle to some of these quest lines. For those playing the game I highly recommend to try and give a few of them a go if you have the time.
This isn't only a really solid Magical Girl JRPG but a great JRPG in on itself. Though the individual parts aren't anything groundbreaking for gameplay, the way it's all tied together makes for an experience I won't be forgetting anytime soon. And that isn't mentioning the World, Characters and the OST which are all exceptional. One of my favorite tracks is 'Solemn Casket', it mixes a heart monitor with a drum beat.
It's a shame not a lot of people are talking about this, it's one of the best ports I've seen for a while on Switch. The OST, Art style, Story and Characters are all descent. The only issue I have is the combat could've been better.
I cant wait to play this, I'm trying too finish the the second game before realese. At this stage I'm about halfway... finding core crystals is a pain.
