@HingryHuppo it doesn't, what should have happened is we should have gotten a botw complete edition for Switch 2 for 50 bucks which is the standard for almost all publishers when publishing a 5+ year old game (botw is 7 years old) to a new system. Now to get the game with all dlc for switch 2 you gotta pay 80$+20$ =100$ for the complete edition
Again, if the only thing nintendo did is increase a resolution and fps with no upgrade to textures, shadows.. than the best way to play botw is still an emulator not the switch 2 (mods, cheats......)
@nessisonett Sure, it's the same as PS5, but the difference with ps5 is that those games have pc ports so if you wanted to play the best possible version it's always gonna be on pc unlike nintendo where the best version was on emulators not the 720p (sometimes lower) 25fps experience on most first party titles so the switch 2 having finally playable framerate and resolution shouldn't be a paid upgrade (especially on handheld mode)
@nessisonett HD texture pack is not the same as better settings, HD texture packs won't give you better shadows or more grass, it's used for low res textures to enhance them (for games of pre-ps3 era) and make them readable and more pleasing to look at. I'm talking about upgrades the same way as hogwarts legacy on switch vs switch 2 for example. They cranked up the settings and fps and gave us a much better looking game on switch 2. Look you can't deny that these "switch 2" upgrades are just more fps and resolution and they dare to charge for it for games like totk and botw
@nessisonett Nope, the advantage nintendo has is that they can make better textures and even more detailed graphical settings (shadows, terrain, geometry...) unlike emulators which only upscales the game as was done here. think some PS4 games that were ported to PS5 with better settings besides more fps and resolution. IF nintendo made a switch 2 version with better graphics it would be better than emulators, now it is not. We'll see what will happen with games like metroid 4 or totk as those are getting "paid" upgrade packs
@Serpenterror when you'll try any switch exclusive in 4k you'll know how ***** the switch version looks, mods make the game look even shiner than what the devs intended, you think the devs are fine with the hardware the switch had? many games have very bad draw distance because of it, so if a mod fixes that it will be a worse experience because the switch version have ***** draw distance? enjoy your 720-480p 25fps version yikes, imagine gaming on the switch with it's very low resolution and settings, must be a ***** experience compared to emulators
@Serpenterror yeah, because if they release a switch pro next year and this game will be in 1080p60 you will say the same thing?. Also, no. you're not modifying anything just upscaling the resolution and better fps. The definitive experience

@John_Deacon the game is a visual masterpiece playing it in 3x resolution in emu with 60fps docked mode in a G16 oled display

Still looks worse than an emulator with mods

@Arawn93 because emulation is piracy? very funny

i'll be sure to emulate this on citra after it's removed
Re: Random: Elected Official In Japan Is Looking To Legally Preserve Games
easy, emulation. Besides some very rare lost titles if they exist, every single nintendo title is emulatable and so is accessible forever
