All these people who just have that nonsensical, absolute, childish "boycott" nature on mobile games... You don't have to play them. They don't hurt you in any way. The people developing them have no and wouldn't otherwise have any influence on the development of Switch games anyway. There are people who enjoy them and always being like "I DON'T LIKE THEM SO THEY SHOULDN'T EXIST" is really just childish. You can hate and criticize them for things like ridiculous microtransactions. That is totally reasonable. But wishing them to cease existing out of selfish reasons, bringing down every comment section where someone might enjoy them, that's just annoying as heck.
@SeantheDon29 Why? No one is hurt by them and some people enjoy them. It doesn't take away from any potential Switch game either, because they are an independent team working on their own, and they wouldn't work on Switch games anyway.
@Heavyarms55 Don't want to sound like a fanboy who has to defend his favourite series (even tho I gotta be as honest as to say that I probably am, no matter what I do xD) but why do you say that Detective Conan gave up on its plot?
I mean, yeah, the Anime spams filler episodes whereever it can, and the manga is kinda pulling the current Rum Arc a little longer than it maybe should have, but the story is still pushing forward faster than ever before rn, to a point where you can actually say that the series is definitely nearing it's end, and what we get is pretty damn interesting for me
But enough fanboying for my favourite anime, to the topic: Welp, while the last One Piece Games didn't get me too much, and I'm not big of a Warriors fan, it's surprisingly always been the One Piece Warriors game that ended up being fun to me. And... well, for this one, we only got a cg trailer so far, but if the actual game does the pretty epic atmosphere of the trailer justice (like, at least a little bit), then I'm in.
While I totally get and support the denial of escalating microtransactions and especially pay 2 win, I really feel like the two games in question aren't particulary good examples xD
Personally, I have never really spent money on FEH (only one time, and then I actually did it solely to support the game, I didn't even really need the orbs), yet I have 80+ 5* (rarest) characters in that game. And I dare to say that I didn't even get that lucky to be there. I got all of that just through free actions and the many orbs the game supplies you for free (or for your time by legitimately playing the game). Admittedly, they do keep removing more and more regular free orb resources, but still, I feel like it's still acceptable.
My large number of rare resources in that game mostly comes from me regularly playing since launch... but yeah, you can get most of the chars (theoretically even all of them) without spending a penny.
I never played AC Pocket Camp, but as far as FEH goes, I think it's actually pretty fair.
Not to argue in favor of the gambling aspect of it, or to defend the concept, just saying that there's much worse out there, in my opinion.
@Bondi_Surfer You are aware that the game offers a mode exactly like that...? Not even giving it that much less relevance, since this mode also has online tournaments. It's not in the story, but the story is the weakest part of the game anyway.
@rjejr You'll have to pay for any online services starting September. And Nintendo are not the first ones to do that. If you take that aside, they're just giving additional content for free, while also giving those who are really into the game a chance to play them earlier then those, who are not that much into the game, won't play the online tournaments and thus probably don't really care much about it anyway.
@Yorumi First of all, there ARE many just normally unlockable characters in this game. It's not like those two are characters they held back to artificially make the game exciting (I mean, they could be, but I doubt it), they are just additional characters that might have not been in the game, if Nintendo didn't have those possibilities. Also, we don't have to pay for it, so what's the matter with free new content after the game's release?
Also, with Smash... they won't do that. Like, really, they won't do that. I know that was probably ironic... but no... they won't do that. After stating that most characters will have to be unlocked, I'm sure they'll also take the remaining step and give us some good single player unlocking conditions.
But many people do not seem to realize, that it doesn't really matter for Smash wether it's a port or not. Because... seriously, WHAT makes a new Smash Bros - a new Smash Bros? New characters - check (even if not many yet, the returning ones make it even IMO) New stages - check (same thing as with characters) New modi - not confirmed yet, but definitely gonna happen, MAYBE even a story mode New graphics - confirmed. You still see a little Smash 4 in it, but it objectively looks fresh and WAY better New mechanics - totally check.
So what does the game lack to be "more than a port"? Of course they could change the graphics and engine so much that we could not see anything resembling Smash 4, but would that really be a good choice? After all, Smash 4 has barely aged yet imo.
@Yasaal Are you sure that credits screen means that Smash 4 uses Unreal Engine? I also thought so at first, but I realized that this screen is not directed to just Smash but the entire presentation (given that it also mentions things like Dark Souls and Epic Games which aren't represented in Smash). So i rather think that the UE logo might've been meant for another game?

Re: Feature: How A Joke Hatched Gaming's Most Horrible Goose
Can't wait for it. Never thought that a game called "Untitled Goose Game" would legit compete with a new Zelda release for me.

Re: Switch Controllers Are Getting Google Chrome Support
I've actually always been a fan of Google stuff. Especially the Google Drive suite, it's just so comfortable to use!
I'm stoked to see what they can do if they try to enter the gaming market. If they choose to partner with Nintendo, then I'm stoked even more.
