Re: Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp Scheduled Maintenance Spotted

Come on guys, stick to the facts. Not accepting Russia's fault here it's like ***** on someone and not understanding why this person is mad at you. You're just a band of lunatics who doesn't understand a damn thing about how huge this is (we almost entered World War 3) as it's concerns a country on Europa's border, not a country with terrorism or something like that like. I don't think neither Nintendo or anybody care about selling its products in countries like Yemen, Afghanistan or Iraq, because it's just impossible for decades, war or not.

So tell me @JayJ, can you tell me a game other than Advance Wars released between february and april to have a parodia of Russia on war? Your Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II coming soon has nothing to do with that by the way, you're maybe someone from Al-Qaeda and not happy with how you're depicted as "terrorist" in this game lol...

Re: Random: France Bans Gaming Terms Like 'eSports' To Maintain Language Purity

I'm french (not native but it's a story for another day) and I made an account here just for this article haha...

So yeah, France takes words from english, so do other countries with french and other languages. For example and to take @Enigk case, we don't have a word for "weekend" which would be "fin de semaine" ("end of the week" by litteral translation). For this particular case I guess the english word was adopted out of habit because it's more convenient and cooler, but I'm not a specialist on these questions so I can't confirm the origin of usage.

The difference between "weekend" and things like "cloud gaming", "streamer" or "game as service"... You guess it, they are more recent words and probably not understandable for people who don't play video games (or rarely) and don't have this "gaming knowledge".

And as french citizen, nobody is forced to used the french translations of "cloud gaming" etc. See these as recommandations for french professionals whatever. I doubt the hole french population is even aware of this measure, our eldery in the countryside must not even know the English terms haha.
