@Sean: Wow! That's surprising. I don't do cheats, i feel, y'know, like I've cheated, and therefore won't enjoy it as much. Games don't beat me, I beat them.
@skywake: OK, fair enough. I'm just against the idea tis all, and am clutching at straws. I want hard games, and I don't want the less able to get help achieving what I have managed on my own with hard work and yummy skills. They should keep trying till they get it, like I do. With anything in life, how do you ever get better, while someone is holding your hand.
But yeah, that doesn't make very good business sense, and Nintendo's newly found 'casual' market, need a game that doesn't kick them in the nuts from the off, as they will be put off in the future.
I, however, want games that push me, and test my patience. I sure hope NSMBW fits that bill, despite the kid-gloves. Can't wait!!! But have to.
Nah, if you aint good enough, then you don't deserve all the stars, that's the way I've always viewed it. Tis a reward, for your skills. I don't want everyone and their mum gettin' max stars, just cos they watched someone else do it. Lame!
It won't be as easy to implement in a 3D Mario anyway, as there is usually more than one way around a problem.
Great review Panda. Looking forward to getting this.
I'm annoyed to see though, that the exact same screenshots were used as the 'news' report a while ago, which basically attempted to destroy any hope that this might be good, having read it on Kotaku/Demonoid or where-ever it was. That still p1sses me off.
But nothing to do with you Panda, great review, thank you for going in without any pre-conceptions.
OK, I've had a look, and promptly gifted the Beat demo to half a dozen people. I'm always jabbering at people, saying stuff like "ya gotta get this dude". Now I can send them a demo.
It's gonna be a long 10 days, but it will be the best birthday present ever!!! I'm gonna save reading this review till the day before, I couldn't handle it now. 0_o
lz: I am cooking FRIES as I type, they are completely different to chips, fries are thin and pathetic, where as chips are chunky and awesome, like Britain.
shall we take this elsewhere ;P
EDIT: @Eggmeister: Nintendo Channel dude, I'm still waiting for the new shiny one!
I hadn't assumed anything regarding an iPlayer channel, what with the complete lack of communication between Nintendo and The Beeb around the time of the update. It's great to see they are friends now though. Yay! I hope they stick with the shiny black interface, mmmm.
Eek! /me feels bad for TG, and all the other folk who won't get this. :/
@JamieO: Woah, you aren't far at all. I was near there the other day for an interview. Couple o' pints and some racing sound good. See you in the summer, maybe.
@JamieO: By the beach, yup, I remember it. The pleasure beach was destroyed once Blackpool bought it, now it's just a ruins, tis a real shame, and an eyesore. I'm actually typing from Southport beleive it or not, we'll have to have a beer next time your in town. Assuming I haven't escaped from this horrible place by then.
Yup, talking about a crappy seaside town is more interesting than this weeks downloads, oh well.
Spot on Corbie. There was absolutely NO marketing for DS:Extraction, whatsoever. Thinking about it, I never see EA games being plugged. Advertising equals increased sales, it's basic stuff really.
Whilst I found the original package to be a real joy, I find these bite size downloads a real insult. Chopping a game up and releasing levels individually is the height of laziness. Speaking of which, I can't be arsed typing this in each of the 5 reviews.
From someone who played it on the GC, I highly suggest playing the original version (if you can find it), as the NPC controls sound horrible by comparison. They are replacing analogue control with point and click, which just wouldn't be the same.
@Bass: I appreciate where you are coming from. But, If it is only available online and in certain retailers, it will inevitable struggle, as only those who were previously interested in the title will go looking for it. When in store, all sorts of people will buy it in passing. If it's not there, they will never know it even existed. Tis a real shame, as companies like Rising Star just won't bother in the future, as it will no longer be viable to take such risks.
@token girl: I don't need to buy such games, I just borrow them from my niece. And I'm sorry to say, all Prosody's ponies got turned into glue.

So yes, Nintendo needs to cater for both of us.

Re: Miyamoto Unsure if Super Mario Galaxy 2 Will Include the Super Guide
Sean, Luigi is a bonus, for doing well.
Re: WiiWare Demo Service Now Available!
@invmat: I imagine the game engine takes up a lot more space than any levels removed.
The Wii's memory is there to be written upon, and re-written. I wasn't aware it was an issue. If ever my Wii memory fails, I'll blame you.
Re: WiiWare Demo Service Now Available!
I'm curious invmat, why is block size an issue any more? You can just dl on to SD, what's the beef?

Re: WiiWare Demo Service Now Available!
Joygasm! I can now play the demo's of three games I have already downloaded. This isn't quite what I had been hoping for. Far too limited. Oh well.

Re: Rabbids Race Through London
I'm back from Milton Keynes, and whilst I was sat in the city centre for 3 whole hours watching ladies go bye, there was no sign of any Rabbids.
Re: BBC To Launch New Dedicated iPlayer Wii Channel
@warioswoods: McDonalds has ushered in a few generations worth of fat asses, we are catching you up, slowly.
@Prosody: I can't watch Heroes anymore. They killed it! Friends tell me I should start re-watching, but it's too late for that now.

I have been desperate for this ever since the early rumours. But now it's real!!! Can't wait to see what the quality is like. This is amazing news!!

Re: Pixmania: Wiimote Tech Is "Endangered"
Jumping the gun a bit there aren't they. Fax machines could be gone in a year or two, but the rest could be around for another 5 years, easily.
I bet they didn't mention that the printed press is in more danger than any of those items.

Fantastic review Sean! Felt like I was playing it all over again. Really good to hear someone else bond with it the way I did. Yay!
So much character, so much fun! <3
Re: Old Cart on the Block Has the Right Stuff

Maybe we could all chip in, and have a ceremony.

Nevermind.

I've been playing a lot of lego recently, whilst babysitting mini-ones, this has inspired me to create Nintendo stuff. Yay!
Re: Brand New Rubik's Puzzle Galaxy: RUSH screens

GAME suck a55! They could make this a 'big release', if they wanted to. They don't hesitate in stocking 'Me & My Stupid Pony'.
Re: Black Wii Unboxed Before Your Very Eyes!
K. I'll just hope the nice repair man saves the day.
Mine definitely won't be signed by Mario himself though, that's for sure. Super Jealous!!! Can't wait to hear the podcast.
Re: Black Wii Unboxed Before Your Very Eyes!
I hate you James!I'm happy for you James, that is purdy. Why does my dishwasher break down the very same week I intend to buy a black Wii? I'm so f***ed off!
Any idea as to how 'limited edition' these things are? Dya reckon I can get away with waiting a couple of weeks? o_0
Re: Miyamoto Talks Zelda With MotionPlus
I'm perpetually excited about 'the next Zelda'. The wait continues...
Re: Iwata: WiiWare Demos Are Coming
No complaints here. Yay!
Although some WiiWare developers (the 5h1t ones), just soiled themselves.
